* Mr. Navneet Kumar, IFS, appreciating the initiative said that in the last one week they had organized such visits for different Government & Private Schools of the city and over 300 young children were sensitized through this programme about the important role Birds play, as birds provide critical links within the vast food chains and webs that exist in our ecosystem.

*Today, a week-long migratory bird watching excursion and cleanliness drive for School students was inaugurated by Shri TC Nautiyal, IFS, Director, Department of Environment & Chief Conservator of Forests, Chandigarh Administration.

Highlighting the importance of cycling to the students, he said that cycling keeps a person healthy. * As per advice of School Principal Dr. Vinod Kumar, saplings of Peepal, Banyan, Neem and Palash were planted to keep the eviornmenr healthy.

*Renewable Energy & Electric Vehicle Expo known as REEVE-2023 was formally inaugurated by Sh. *Chandigarh to soon become Carbon Neutral City-Debendra Dalai *Addressing the gathering the Chief Guest Sh. Debendra Dalai shared, the theme of this year’s World Earth Day is ‘Invest in Our Planet,’ which means subsidizing the efforts to save the earth. And today all young participants should resolve to shun the single use of plastic, reduce, recycle waste, conserve water, walk and pedal for short distances, plant more trees, cut on fossil fuel consumption and reduce consumerism.

*इस अवसर पर मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में पहुंचे स्थानीय निकाय मंत्री डा इंदरबीर सिंह निझर ने कहा कि वायु प्रदूषण के मुद्दे का हल निकालने के लिये सकारात्मक कार्यवाही की आवश्यकता है। प्रत्येक नागरिक का जागरूक होने जरुरी है। इसमें सबसे महत्वपूर्ण पहलू जिसे अकसर अनदेखा किया जाता है वह है - कंस्ट्रक्शन और डेमोलिशन वेस्ट । यह कचरा शहरों में एक उपद्रव पैदा करता है। शहर सभी का है और इसे साफ रखना हम सबका सामूहिक कर्तव्य है।

*प्राचीन कला केंद्र द्वारा हर माह आयोजित होने वाली मासिक बैठकों का सिलसिला निरंतर पिछले 24 वर्षों से जारी है। आज इन मासिक बैठकों की 281वी कड़ी में दिल्ली से आये युवा एवं प्रतिभावान कत्थक नृतक विश्ववदीप द्वारा कत्थक नृत्य की ख़ूबसूरत प्रस्तुति पेश की गई। इस कार्यक्रम का आयोजन केंद्र के एम एल कौसर सभागार में सायं छह बजे से किया गया।
