MAHENDERGARH, 28.11.24-Mohammed Nazish Quasmi, PhD scholar in Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh won Best Poster Award at a Two Day International Conference on “Communication and Dissemination of Traditional Knowledge”, organized by CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (NIScPR), New Delhi, in collaboration with Gurugram University, Gurugram. Out of 74 poster presentations and numerous participants from various institutions across India, Nazish’s work stood best out for its thorough research and relevance to the conference theme.
Nazish’s research, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Ashok Jangra, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences received commendation from the jury for its scientific approach and practical implications. This research was conducted in Dr. Ashok’s in-silico lab where therapeutical potential and underlying molecular mechanism of Cucumis melo’s commonly known as Kachri (found in southern part of Haryana) was explored using computational approaches for the treatment of Diabetic associated kidney disorders. The Honourable Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Haryana, Prof. (Dr.) Tankeshwar Kumar congratulated Nazish on his achievement, acknowledging it as a significant accomplishment for the university. The Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Dinesh Kumar also expressed pride in his success and praised both the scholar and supervisor. This award highlights the dedication of the university’s research scholars and their contribution to advancing knowledge in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. Dr. Dinesh Kumar told that two students from MPharm (Pharmacognosy) Ist sem namely Parvesh Bhardwaj and Yashodha Rawat also participated in poster presentation in this conference.
