CHANDIGARH, 04.03.25-The Postgraduate Department of Economics at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised a session on the topic ‘Decoding CAT: Gateway to IIMs’. An alumunus of Indian Institute of Ahmedabad, Mr. Sony Goyal delivered a lecture, giving an extensive overview of the structure, marking scheme and preparation strategies for Common Admission Test (CAT). Inspiring journeys of CAT toppers were shared to encourage and motivate the students for their career advancement with confidence and perseverance. An interactive session was held to clarify various doubts and concerns of students regarding the CAT examination. Over 70 students attended the session.
In another event, Econoquest- the Economics Society of the Department of Economics, organised a stimulating discussion on the Union Budget 2025-26. The discussion, titled ‘The Budget Breakdown: Perspectives and Priorities’, encompassed a wide range of topics including the new income tax regime, privatisation, health and education, fiscal reforms, and ministry-wise allocation, among others.
Officiating Principal Ms. Suman Mahajan lauded the efforts of the faculty and the students for conducting such insightful and thought-provoking sessions. She asserted that such sessions and discussions are imperative for the holistic development of the students.
