Chandigarh, May 13 : Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh Anurag Agarwal has said that the cost of bulk SMS sent by the candidate during the campaign in Lok Sabha General Elections-2024 will also be included in the expenditure account of the concerned candidate.

He said that the district administration and the concerned Assistant Returning Officer on getting the information about the use of bulk messages during the election campaign period, will assess the estimate of the expenditure incurred on it from the respective service provider and include the same into the expenditure account of the candidate.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that as per the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India, there will be a complete ban on sending bulk SMS of political nature during the period up to 48 hours before the end of polling. During the election campaign in all the districts, mobile service providers have given instructions to bring the information about such bulk SMS to the notice of the monitoring team. The Commission has also issued detailed instructions for the conduct of elections in a free, fair and peaceful manner. He said that the teams will also keep a close vigil on those sending objectionable SMS during the election campaign. During the course of investigation, the sender of such SMS will be traced and appropriate action will be taken against him as per rules, he added.

Chandigarh, May 13 - The Department of Electronics Science at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, has begun contributing to the India Semiconductor Mission declared by the Government of India last year. Under the India Semiconductor Mission, the government is planning to develop the country as a centre for semiconductor chip manufacturing. To train students in the design of semiconductor chips, using highly sophisticated software tools widely used by top multinational companies such as Intel, Samsung, etc., the Department of Electronics Science at Kurukshetra University has initiated a one-week workshop.

It is noteworthy that the Department of Electronics Science at Kurukshetra University has become a part of the Mission, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. The Indian government has tasked a research project to develop semiconductor chips. The Ministry has made available ready-to-use IC design software, which is similar to those used by multinational companies like Intel and Samsung for making semiconductor chips. The semiconductor chips designed by the Department of Electronics Science will be manufactured under the Make in India mission in India. These software tools provided will not only be highly beneficial for research activities but will also be used to generate skilled manpower in chip designing. After receiving training, these students will find placements easily in the semiconductor industry. Professor Mukesh Kumar, the coordinator of this project, mentioned that the country's goal is to train 85,000 skilled professionals in semiconductor chip design in the next 5 years. He also stated that only the Department of Electronics Science at Kurukshetra University has been selected for the India Semiconductor Mission from the entire state of Haryana.

Professor Mukesh Kumar mentioned that the semiconductor industry is rapidly growing worldwide, and India is now ready to join this race. Due to various incentives announced under the Make in India mission by the Indian government, many companies that were manufacturing semiconductor chips in China and other countries are coming to India. There is a need to develop necessary skills in the students of the department to fulfill the requirements of these multinational companies.

On this occasion, Prof. Sunil Dhingra, the director of UIET, said that students should take full advantage of this opportunity and learn advanced technologies, which will not only be useful for students to get placements in the semiconductor industry but also contribute to the country's development.

Brave girl of Haryana gave new lease of life to four critically-ill patients after her tragic death

Chandigarh, May 13 - In a deeply moving display of generosity and compassion, the family of an 18-year-old girl Preet resident of Jind, who tragically met with an accident on 29 April, 2024 and declared brain-dead on 11th May, 2024 at Alchemist Hospital in Panchkula, choose to donate her organs.

Giving more information in this regard an official spokesperson informed that the donated Liver organ was airlifted to Max Hospital Saket, Pancreas and one kidney shifted to PGIMER Chandigarh, One kidney donated to a kidney-failure patient in Alchemist Hospital, Panchkula. A green corridor was created on Sunday between Alchemist Hospital, Panchkula to Max Hospital Saket, New Delhi and PGIMER Chandigarh.

Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Associate Director Kidney Transplant, Alchemist Hospital, Panchkula highlighted the significance of organ transplantation in restoring health and vitality to patients, while Dr. Paramjit Singh Maan, Medical Superintendent of Alchemist Hospital said that awareness of organ donation is must, many precious lives can be saved with organ donation. Ironically, India is struggling with acute shortage of organs for the critically ill patients requiring transplantation. This selfless act has brought hope and renewed life to multiple individuals in need.
