Chandigarh, May 14- Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Anurag Agarwal said that the total number of voters in Haryana in the Lok Sabha elections to be held on May 25 is 2 crore 1 lakh 87 thousand 911, including 1 crore 6 lakh 52 thousand 345 men, and 94 lakh 23 thousand 956 women voters. In addition to this, there are 467 transgender voters who will use their franchise.
Giving information, the Chief Electoral Officer said that every vote is paramount in a democracy. Therefore, every voter must exercise their vote. Democracy remains incomplete without voters. The Election Commission's task is to complete the election process in a fair and transparent manner. He said that 19,812 permanent polling stations have been set up in the state. In addition, 219 temporary polling stations have also been set up. Extra arrangements will be made at all polling stations keeping in mind the heat wave. The voters will be welcomed outside the polling booths by the BLO on the day of polling.
He said that by taking a unique initiative during the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Haryana Chief Electoral Officer informed that invitation letters are being sent to the voters through BLOs in order to increase voters turnout. .
He further informed that there are five phases in the voting process. First, one has to stand in line for voting, then the polling officer will take information about the voter's name and identification documents from the voter list. In the third phase, the polling officer will apply blue ink on the finger. In the fourth phase, the polling officer will take the slip and confirm the presence of blue ink on the finger. After that, the voter will go to the EVM and cast his vote.

Anurag Agarwal said that to ensure maximum participation of the voters in the upcoming Lok Sabha General Elections 2024, district election icons have been designated in every district and the youngsters are being really happy as they are taking selfies with cutouts of these election icons that have been especially installed at various places.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that selfie stands have been placed for the purpose of making voters aware and different mediums are being used at different places to make voters aware. All SVEEP activities are being organised in the Lok Sabha general elections 2024. The school and college children are being associated with these SVEEP activities. These youth are making people aware about voting on May 25 by participating in street plays and other activities on the stage of their respective colleges and schools, shared Sh. Anurag Agarwal.
He said that only when the message of exercising one's right to vote on May 25 reaches the people, the target of Haryana Chief Electoral Office will be successful, and the target of 75 percent voting in this Lok Sabha election 2024 can be achieved.

Haryana Police Stations and Posts Enhance Security with Comprehensive CCTV System Installation
Chandigarh, May 14 – In a significant stride towards fortifying security measures across Haryana, the Haryana Police Housing Corporation (HPHC) has successfully completed the installation of a comprehensive CCTV camera system at all 715 police stations and police posts in the state, encompassing 333 police posts and 382 police stations.
* State-of-the-Art Surveillance Infrastructure
This robust security infrastructure includes 2,953 fixed bullet cameras and 4,600 dome cameras, providing extensive surveillance coverage throughout Haryana. The system boasts advanced capabilities, including 18 months of audio and video recording for thorough documentation and investigation support. Dedicated server storage solutions for police stations and NVR (Network Video Recorder) storage for police posts ensure efficient data management.
A Central Health Monitoring System (CHMS) at ERSS 112 in Panchkula enables real-time system monitoring and alerts, ensuring optimal functionality. Additionally, an uninterrupted power supply with a 10-hour backup guarantees continuous surveillance operations, even during power outages. Rigorous testing is currently underway to validate the system's seamless integration and functionality, with full operation (GO-Live) scheduled for June 10, 2024.
*Project Background and Implementation
The project was initiated in December 2020 in compliance with a Supreme Court directive aimed at bolstering public safety and enhancing police effectiveness. Following state government approval in January 2022, HPHC embarked on the Rs. 106 crore project, selecting M/s Broadcast Engineering Consultant India Pvt. Ltd., a Government of India PSU, as the system integrator through a transparent e-tendering process.
