Chandigarh, July 12 – The Woman Police Stations in Haryana got a boost with the addition of 50 new vehicles as the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal flagged off these Maruti Ertiga during Ek Aur Sudhar programme organized on women safety and empowerment in Panchkula today.
While stating this here today, Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu said that these vehicles have been allotted to ‘Durga Shakti Rapid Action Force’ to check the incidents of eve teasing and other crime relates to women and girls in the state.
He also thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning funds for the purchase of these new vehicles for Women Police Stations. These vehicles will exclusively work for the safety of women. Haryana Police had purchased these Maruti Ertiga for ‘Durga Shakti Rapid Action Force’, which had been set up at district level to check the incidents of eve teasing.
Out of the total, six vehicles each had been allotted in Gurugram and Faridabad districts, three each to Ambala, Karnal and Sonipat, two each in district Panchkula, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Rewari, Jhajjar, Hisar, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Yamunanagar, Jind and Rohtak and one each in the districts of Bhiwani, Palwal, Nuh, Hansi, Charkhi Dadri, Narnaul and Kaithal.
