Chandigarh December 10: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today inaugurated projects worth lakhs of rupees in Haryana Police Academy (HPA) in Karnal.

On his arrival in HPA, Mr Manohar Lal took guard of honour from the contingent of Haryana Police and unveiled the statue of Arjuna made of fiber at the main gate of the Academy.

Later on, Mr Manohar Lal went to Buddha Garden in the Academy in an open jeep and inaugurated the statue of Lord Buddha. The garden which is based on the ancient system of medicine offers facilities of yoga and acupressure and helps the people to remain healthy. A track having the mixture of land, concrete, stone, water and wood has been laid in this garden and upon walking on this track bare footed; various diseases could be cured through acupressure. Mr Manohar Lal also went around this track.

Thereafter, the Chief Minister also inaugurated flags installed on the height of 40-45 feet in the premises of the HPA. On this occasion, Mr Manohar Lal also inaugurated a huge stone set up in a nearby park. Precious words inspiring the people to imbibe moral values in them have been in scripted on this stone. Mr Manohar Lal asked Director General of Police (DGP) Mr Manoj Yadava to include the subject of moral values in the training curriculum of police personnel in HPA. He said that today is World Human Rights Day and said that this day is celebrated all over the world for human rights. He said that apart from rights, every person also has certain duties.

The Chief Minister said that the International Anti-Corruption Day was observed on Monday said that the State Government had launched a whatsapp number for general public to report about incident of corruption. Apart from this a helpline number which would remain operational round the clock was also launched. He said that toll free number has also been launched to fight against corruption. He said that the any complainant who would submit three correct complaints in a year would be awarded. He said that such complainant would have the choice either to take award at a public function or at his home. He called upon the people living in the society to raise their voice against corruption. After this, Chief Minister Manohar Lal inaugurated the Ashoka Pillar installed in another park in the police complex.

On this occasion, BJP state president Mr. Subhash Barala, Director General of Police, Mr. Manoj Yadav, ADGP Haryana Police Academy Mr Shrikant Jadhav, Additional Director General of Police CID, Mr. Anil Rao, and Inspector General of Police Mr. Yogender Singh Nehra were present.
