Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Dushyant Chautala has directed the Superintendent Engineers of Public Works (Building and Roads) department to make the Tweeter handle account operational within 12 hours for the rederassal of complaints.

Chandigarh December 13: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Dushyant Chautala has directed the Superintendent Engineers of Public Works (Building and Roads) department to make the Tweeter handle account operational within 12 hours for the rederassal of complaints. An officer of level of Superintendent Engineer would ensure its monitoring at Headquarter level, he added.

Mr Dushyant Chautala was presiding over the review meeting of the Public Works (Building and Roads) department at PWD Rest House, Sector-1, Panchkula near here today.

He said that his aim would be to make the roads of the state better. He said that no matter the roads, ROBs or RUBs belong to Public Works Department, National Highways Authority of India or Railways, the officers should prepare their road map in 10 days and submit report to the Additional Chief Secretary of the department, Mr. Rajeev Arora.

Mr Chautala informed that he would soon convene a meeting with Union Minister of Railways Mr Piyush Goyal and discuss all the railway related issues of Haryana. It was also informed in the meeting that there are total 759 railway crossings in Haryana out of which 167 are unmanned. There is a target to make all railway crossings unmanned by the year 2020, he added. It was also informed that during the year 2019-20, work for the construction of 48 ROBs/RUBs has been completed and work on 14 ROBs/RUBs is in progress.

He said that all the ROBs within the city should be used either for banding zones or for parking. For this, every Superintendent Engineer should prepare a list of such RoBs in their jurisdiction and also prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the utilization of places under the ROBs.

It was also decided in the meeting that the projects that have been declared as infrastructure and where the land acquisition is required, the policy would be got amended as per NHAI and Railways Act. He directed the officers to prepare a list of all the assets of the department. Besides, rest houses should be got renovated as samples from those companies who could do this work free of cost so that these could be adopted as a model later on. He also asked the Department to prepare a scheme for installing CCTV cameras in the cities.

He said that the officers would ensure that after the completion of the road work, the repair of roads in the defect liability period be carried out by the same contractor.

He also directed to make available the list of those contractors on whom fine has been imposed in the last 10 years. He said that the Harpath app would continue to work, but the department would resolve complaints on tweeter handle at its level. He however said that Charkhi Dadri and Panchkula districts would not be included for Twitter handle.
