Chandigarh, February 24 - Haryana Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Mrs. Kamlesh Dhanda said that Anganwadi workers who is performing excellently for the welfare of women and children in the state will be honored on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, 2020. On this occasion, Chief Minister Manohar Lal will felicitate these leading Anganwadi workers by giving them awards at a state-level function.

Mrs. Dhanda gave this information after interviewing the workers to be selected for the State Award here today. Additional Chief Secretary of Haryana Women and Child Development Department, Mr. Amit Jha, and other senior officers were also present on the occasion. The committee interviewed 26 Anganwadi workers on the basis of marks in the written examination held in all the districts of the state. Besides the minister, the members of the interview committee consisted of several other officers..

The Minister said that three of the workers will be selected for the National Award and the selection process will be transparent and fair. The selection will be made on the basis of written examination and interview.

Earlier, the minister took progress reports of various schemes being run by the central and state government related to the department and directed to expedite the works. She said that the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal is committed to empower women and girls and ensure gender equality. She reviewed Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Integrated Child Development Scheme, Supplementary Nutrition Program, Aapki Beti Hamari Beti Yojana, Integrated Child Protection Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Maternity Vandana Yojana, and One Stop Center for Women etc.

On the occasion, Mrs. Kamlesh Dhanda said that Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal is determined to make the state more secure for women.
