CHANDIGARH,10.04.24-Dietetics Day is an annual celebration on 10th January which all around the country. The 2024 theme “Role of Dieticians and Nutritionists in Public Health Issues” is being encouraged to promote health and wellbeing in the community. With the changes in lifestyle and elevation of stress , customs and habits need to be modified through mindful nutrition education.

Their contribution and efforts in preparing the right therapeutic diet ensures that the patients have the best nutrition for optimal health. This helps to lessen patients hospital stay as well.

Eminent and highly experienced speakers from Institute of Hotel management under the guidance of Mr. Vishal Kalia , Principal, Chandigarh Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Sector-42 briefed the food handlers about behaviour and stress management, cooking procedures to improve the nutritional quality and also on food and beverage service techniques.

The program was inaugurated by Professor Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER. Professor Vipin Koushal, Medical Superintendent and Head, Hospital Administration, PGIMER presided as guest of honour. Certificates of being ‘Karam Yodhas’ were also distributed by honourable director sir. Around 200 kitchen food handlers and 50 delegates participated in the workshop.
