CHANDIGARH,03.04.24-Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) faced a strike today by outsourced workers. The strike is in contravention of the orders of Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court which had barred the strike and demonstrations in the premises of the hospital. Despite this disruption, patients in emergency, outpatient & inpatient departments were provided uninterrupted patient care.
A total of 10973 patients registered in various outpatient departments while 159 new patients were registered in the emergency department. Besides these, 110 new patients were admitted in different wards of the Institute. A total of 207 surgical procedures, including 22 emergency surgeries were performed in various operation theaters.
