CHANDIGARH,21.04.24-It was a festival for the Pensioners' of SBI as they thronged to Baba Makhan Shah Lubana Bhawan to listen to who's who of trade union movement in banking industry and also the views of Management.


Chief Guest Shri Kajal Kumar Bhowmik, Deputy General Manager and Circle Development officer Chandigarh Circle highlighted the role of SBI staff pensioners in making SBI a great institution which earned a net profit of Rs50232 crores during the financial year 2022-23 and the targets for 2024-25 are 1lac crore. He assured every help to the pensioners assiciation.


Shri Sanjeev Bandlish, convener UFBU and General Secretary All India State Bank of India Staff Federation highlighted the efforts made by UFBU in providing much needed relief to pensioners. He termed the 12th bipartite settlement as historic settlement for bank employees as well as pensioners. Com Deepak Sharma General Secretary All India State Bank officers Federation highlighted the role of federation in resolving the main issue of pension disparity thereby making way for pension@ 50% of last drawn basic pay to all without any ceiling and also getting DA disparity removed for pre Novenber,2002 retirees.Shri Parmod Indal, President SBI SC ST employees federation emphasied the need for equal opportunities to all . Shri Sanjay Sharma, General Secretary SBIOA Chandigarh Circle appreciated the role of SBIPA in effectively resolving the pensioners issues.Shri Dipak Basu,General Secretary Federation of SBI pensioners Associations in his key note address talked about the achievements of federation in getting most of the long pending issues settled.


Earlier Dr M K Virmani General Secretary SBI Pensioners Association Chandigarh Circle delivered wecome address and Shri Amar Pal Vice President FSBIPA highlighted the role of all national leaders of banking industry .He termed the presence of all leaders at one place as historic moment.


The program started with lighting of lamp by the diginitaries and yoga demonstration on Ganesh Vandna by yoga players of Yogasana Chandigarh,.


Shri Vijay Magon President SBIPA Chandigarh Circle presented vote of thanks.


Those attaining the age of 75 years during the period were honoured by presenting shawl by Dr Virmani and Shri Magon.


The other prominent personalities gracing the occasion included Priyvrat,, President SBIOA Chandigarh Circle, Iqbal Singh, President SBISA Chandigarh Circle , Soudagar Singh, President SEWA Chandigarh Circle Shri Rajinder Kumar, AGM HR Chandigarh Circle and Shri Amit Bansal, CM PPG Chandigarh Circle


Thereafter in business session the general Secretary read the report, amendments to Rules and bye laws of Association and resolutions which were passed by the members unanimously.
