50,000 new recruitments in the days to come - Chief Minister

Public should beware of those who mislead with lies - Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh, July 22 - Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that the state government has taken several steps to benefit the poor. He highlighted that government jobs are now being given without ‘kharchi-parchi’ and 50,000 more recruitment will be done in the days to come.

The Chief Minister made these remarks as the chief guest at an event in district Karnal today.

Criticizing the opposition, Sh Nayab Singh Saini stated that the Congress party had only promised to provide 100-square yard plots to the poor but failed to deliver the plot papers and possession. In contrast, current government has so far given possession and papers for plots to 20,000 individuals, and those who have left will also given plots.

He also said that the government has decided to waive the electricity surcharge for connections up to 2 kilowatts. Consumers will only pay for the units consumed, meaning that if they are out of town for a month, their bill will be zero. Additionally, the government will install 2-kilowatt solar panels on the roofs of houses belonging to consumers with an annual income of less than Rs 1.80 lakh. The cost of this installation, amounting to Rs 1 lakh, will be covered 60 percent by the Central Government and 40 percent by the Haryana Government. Any surplus electricity generated by these solar panels will be purchased by the Power Corporation.

He said that the state government has provided free travel up to 1,000 km per year in state transport buses for 84 lakh people from 23 lakh families with an annual income of less than Rs 1 lakh by issuing them HAPPY cards.

Under the Mukhya Mantri Shehri Awas Yojna, 30-square-yard plots are being allocated to the poor in cities, with 15,000 people already receiving plots in 14 cities. He also highlighted that the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat-Chirayu Yojana are reaching the people and that the government is covering the entire cost of education for daughters from families with an income of up to Rs 1.80 lakh.

Sh Nayab Singh Saini also criticized the Congress for spreading misinformation. He said that during their tenure, there were shortages of electricity and long queues for gas cylinders. In contrast, the current government ensures 24-hour electricity and easy availability of LPG cylinders.

Taking a dig at the opposition, the Chief Minister stated that those with questionable records are the ones demanding account from others. He remarked that both the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party are trying to deceive the public, criticizing each other while also collaborating.

He recalled how a Congress leader had warned that if Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, the Constitution would be endangered. However, he pointed out that Sh. Modi has governed the country in accordance with the Constitution for the past 10 years, while the Congress forgets the Constitution when in power.

MLA Mr. Harvinder Kalyan, Chief Minister's OSD Mr. Sanjay Bathla, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Uttam Singh, SP Mr. Mohit Handa, and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.

Students above 18 years of age should also be encouraged to get enrolled as voters

Being on the Voter List is Essential to Cast Your Vote

Chandigarh, July 22 – Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Pankaj Agarwal urged young men and women who have turned 18 years to get enrolled as voters before the Haryana Assembly elections. He emphasized the importance of participating in the democratic process to contribute to the development of the country and the state. The draft voter lists will be published on July 25, and claims and objections can be submitted until August 9. The final voter lists will be published on August 20, 2024.

Mr. Agarwal made these remarks during a meeting with officials from the Secondary Education, Higher Education, Technical Education, Labour, Women and Child Development, and SEWA Departments, in view of the upcoming Vidhan Sabha Elections.

Mr. Pankaj Agarwal said that the Election Commission of India has streamlined the process for adding names to the voter list. Now, new registrations can be made four times a year, with eligibility dates on January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1.

Block Education Officers, who have been designated as dedicated AEROs (Assistant Electoral Registration Officers) by the Commission, should also encourage people to register to vote. Additionally, given the high number of migrant workers in the organized sector in Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, and Panchkula, the Labor Department should conduct campaigns in these areas to help workers register or update their addresses on the voter list.

The Chief Electoral Officer has designated special dates July 27, 28, and August 3, 4 for the preparation of the revised voter list. On these days, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present at polling stations to assist with voter registration, and booth-level agents should also coordinate with the BLOs.

The Haryana Right to Service Commission has imposed a penalty of Rs. 13,000 on JE, Sh. Mustakeem and Commercial Assistant (CA), Sh. Deepak Kumar, working at the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam(DHBVN) in Sohna (Gurugram).

Chandigarh, July 22 - The Haryana Right to Service Commission has imposed a penalty of Rs. 13,000 on JE, Sh. Mustakeem and Commercial Assistant (CA), Sh. Deepak Kumar, working at the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam(DHBVN) in Sohna (Gurugram). Out of this, a fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed on JE and Rs 3,000 on CA. The commission imposed this fine for not providing the notified service to the applicant within the stipulated time frame and for disposing of the appeal without taking any appropriate action.

A spokesperson, providing details of the case, mentioned that the applicant, Kailash, had filed a complaint regarding bill revision at the DHBVN office in Sohna (Gurugram). The spokesperson explained that an MRBD agency's meter reader incorrectly recorded 1491 (kWh) reading in July 2022, while the actual reading was 779 (kWh). As per the concerned officers’ submission, the MCO was not updated from July 18, 2022 to 3 December 2022, which caused a delay in timely resolution and accurate bill generation.

Since the commission was not satisfied with the above response, a hearing was scheduled before the Chief Commissioner of the Commission for further investigation. The investigation found that the CA, JE, SDO, and XEN did not take any effective steps in the matter of bill revision which caused major inconvenience to the applicant. Taking serious cognizance of the matter, the commission recommended for disciplinary action against the then SDO cum FGRA, Sh. Liaquat Ali and XEN-cum-SGRA, Sh. Gaurav Chaudhary to the Additional Chief Secretary of the Energy Department as they have failed to perform their prescribed under the Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014.

The commission stated that the main fault lies with JE Mustakeem, who neither entered nor approved the MCO for five months. During hearing, he could not provide any reasonable justification for keeping the complaint pending for five months. The commission also found that Commercial Assistant (CA) Deepak Kumar neglected the matter, as he was the designated officer for this issue.
