Chandigarh, December 8 – The Vice President of India, Sh. Jagdeep Dhankhar, while addressing the people at the Gita Gyan Sansthanam on Sunday showered praises on the Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini. Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya also remained present on this occasion.
Lauding the Chief Minister, he said, ‘Nayab Singh Saini zameen se jude huye vyakti hain, jinka charitra bedaag hai, wo lagansheel hain aur unki soch bahut unchi hai. Mujhe poora vishwas hai ki Sh. Nayab Singh Saini nishchit roop se nayab kaam karenge (Sh. Saini is a grounded person with impeccable character, hard-working, and a person of high thinking. I am confident that Nayab Singh Saini will undoubtedly do exceptional work).
The Vice President further said that companions or charioteers play a decisive role in life, and Haryana has found its companion and charioteer in Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
The Vice President of India, who on Sunday visited Haryana to attend the International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav (IGM)-2024, said that Haryana is a land of endless possibilities, a leader of the nation, and its talent is unparalleled in every field. The Vice President expressed that he and his wife share a profound connection with Haryana. He said that visiting this sacred land, where Lord Krishna delivered his timeless teachings to Arjuna, is an experience he will always cherish.
Sh. Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized that the message from the birthplace of the Bhagavad Gita, Dharmakshetra-Kurukshetra, is that the nation is supreme. Patriotism should be pure and absolute.

The Vice President said that for more than a decade, India has been making history. After six decades, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has had the privilege of becoming the charioteer of the nation. He said that India has seen unprecedented economic progress and institutional advancement in the last ten years, and now India is on the path to becoming a developed nation.
Sh. Jagdeep Dhankhar said that a developed India is no longer a dream but a goal. To achieve this, we must adopt the concentration and determination of Arjuna, as he focused solely on his goal, just as we must focus solely on our target to succeed, he said.
*The Five Principles of the Bhagavad Gita are Panchamrit
The Vice President spoke about five important principles from the Bhagavad Gita, which he presented as "Panchamrit". These principles are essential for social order, peace, development, brotherhood, progress, and happiness, he said.
The Vice President said that the first principle is ‘Sarthak Samvad’, where he emphasized that discussions should not be for personal gain but for the welfare of society and the nation. The second principle is ‘Viyaktigat Suchita’, which is crucial for everyone, especially those in positions of power. The third principle is ‘Niswarth Yagya Bhav’, encouraging everyone to contribute to the collective goal of a developed India by 2047. The fourth principle is ‘Karuna’, which India has demonstrated in various forms, such as providing vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic. The fifth principle is ‘Praspar Bhav’, where competition should exist but not lead to conflict.

Sh. Jagdeep Dhankhar said that the country faces certain challenges, with some forces trying to harm India's economy and institutions. However, he urged that we must remember that we are Indians, and being an Indian is our strength. He encouraged everyone to understand the essence of the Bhagavad Gita and its message of positive thinking and harmony.

In today’s world, fraught with stress and conflict, the teachings of the Gita are essential to sustain humanity and foster global harmony, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also acknowledged the tireless efforts of Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj and the Gita Gyan Sansthan in spreading the sacred message of the Holy Gita globally. He said that Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj and the Gita Gyan Sansthan have played a pivotal role in the international expansion of the IGM. With their assistance, the IGM was celebrated abroad for the first time in Mauritius and London in 2019. Subsequently, it was organized in Canada in September 2022 and in Australia in April 2023. This year, the IGM was celebrated in two countries: Sri Lanka in February-March and Manchester, United Kingdom, in August.

Chandigarh, December 8 – The Vice President of India, Sh. Jagdeep Dhankhar, who on Sunday visited Haryana to attend the International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav (IGM)-2024 said that the state sets an exemplary example in terms of its glorious history and vision for development. While the birthplace of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is spreading the light of knowledge worldwide, the developmental achievements of the present state Government are giving the state an unparalleled identity among the leading states of the country.
The Vice President, Sh. Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar visited the Shri Devikoop Bhadrakali Shaktipeeth temple in Kurukshetra, where they offered prayers. Following this, the Vice President, along with his wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya, and Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, arrived at Brahma Sarovar in Purushottampura Bagh to participate in IGM-2024. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed with the sounds of traditional Haryanvi musical instruments.
The Vice President then planted a Kadamba sapling in memory of his late mother, Kesari Devi, while Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar planted a Rudraksha sapling in memory of her late mother, Bhagwati Devi. Later, the Vice President, along with his wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya, Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini and Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji visited the Progressive Haryana Exhibition at Brahma Sarovar, along with the stalls of various departments and the Haryana Pavilion. Members of the Self-Help Groups at the Haryana Rural Livelihood Mission stall presented the mementos to the guests.
The Vice President also visited the Progressive Haryana State-level Exhibition, setup by the Information, Public Relations, Languages, and Culture Department, to observe the Haryana Government's achievements over the past 10 years. He observed the stalls showcasing developmental schemes and appreciated the working style of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

Chandigarh, December 8: The Haryana Tourism Corporation has made a remarkable contribution to the ongoing Gita Mahotsav by opening two blocks of the Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra to visitors. Located at Jyotisar, the sacred site where Lord Krishna is believed to have delivered the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna, the center offers a profound and immersive experience of the epic Mahabharata. Despite only two out of five blocks being operational, the center has already drawn over 7,000 visitors in the past five days, marking it as a resounding success during the Mahotsav celebrations.
The Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra, inaugurated by Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi on February 16, 2024, features six themed buildings designed to present various facets of the Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita. Developed to promote Kurukshetra as Gita Bhoomi and attract tourists from across India under Haryana’s tourism initiatives, the center leverages cutting-edge technology such as 3D mapping, holography, and interactive displays to bring the epic Mahabharata vividly to life. The captivating storytelling, combined with cutting-edge visuals, has particularly resonated with school students, who expressed excitement at the engaging and innovative presentation.

Visitors are taken on an unforgettable journey through meticulously designed galleries, starting with a levitating Sudarshan Chakra, a replica of the Mahabharata’s oldest copy, and a stunning 3D mural of ancient Bharat. The galleries immerse viewers in key moments of the epic, from Draupadi’s Swayamvar to the game of Chausar, culminating in a breathtaking 360-degree projection of the Kurukshetra battlefield. Feedback from visitors has been overwhelmingly positive, with one tourist from Uttar Pradesh remarking, “I never imagined such a magnificent replication of the Mahabharata could exist.”

Second phase of Block-Level Road Safety Quiz Competition held across the State
89,706 Students participated, spreading the message of ‘Road Safety’
Chandigarh, December 8 – The second phase of the block-level road safety quiz competition was organised across schools and colleges in the state. A total of 89,706 students participated enthusiastically, spreading the important message of road safety. Senior police officers from various districts visited the competition centers to encourage the participants.
Under the guidance of the Director General of Police (DGP), Sh. Shatrujeet Kapur, nodal officers from the police department were assigned duties across districts to ensure proper management of the competition. Students were categorised into different groups based on their academic qualifications and age. The questions posed in the competition aimed at helping students understand the significance of road safety and encourage them to make informed decisions in real-life situations.
Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that before the start of the campaign, students were provided with study materials related to road safety rules. Under the guidance of the DGP, the framework for this campaign was designed to involve students of all age groups across the state. To promote road safety, DGP, Sh. Shatrujeet Kapur had earlier facilitated the establishment of Police Cadet Corps and driver training centers in educational institutions through financial assistance from the Road Safety Fund, ensuring the implementation of road safety initiatives at the grassroots level.
In addition to this, several important measures were introduced to further road safety efforts. These included improvements in road engineering, ensuring accountability from the relevant departments, and facilitating immediate medical assistance for accident victims. Road safety awareness centers and Road Safety Clubs were also established and are being run in schools, colleges, and universities. A road safety fund has been created to ensure the availability of adequate financial resources for all interested institutions and departments.
On November 12, the first phase of the ‘Akhil Haryana Road Safety Quiz Competition-2024’ was successfully organised across all schools and colleges in the state, with over 44 lakh students participating—a record-breaking turnout. Following this, the Haryana Police organised the second phase of the competition at the block level, which will be followed by district, range, and state-level competitions.
Since 2013, the competition has seen lakhs of students participate in spreading road safety awareness. Though the competition was paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, DGP, Sh. Shatrujeet Kapur revived the initiative after taking charge in 2023, with a total of 42,24,000 students participating that year, further strengthening the message of road safety across the state.

SNID round of Pulse Polio 2024-25 begins in 6 districts
Approximately 15 lakh children are to be covered during this campaign in the state
Chandigarh, December 8- The Sub National Immunization (SNID) round of Pulse Polio 2024-25 has started on Sunday in 6 districts of the Haryana, identified by Government of India viz: Faridabad, Gurugram, Jhajjar, Mewat, Sonipat and Kaithal in which booth activity was undertaken on the first day in order to maintain the polio free status of the State.
Sharing more details in this regard an official spokesperson said that all the district booths have been inaugurated by Public representatives, senior officers of district administration and health department. Approximately 15 lakh children are to be covered during this campaign in the state.This campaign will continue for another two days by way of House-to-House activity, said the spokesperson.
The spokesperson said that in district Faridabad activity was inaugurated by MLA, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, at SDH Ballabgarh and by MLA, Sh. Satish Phagna and Sh. Kavinder Chaudhary ; in district Gurgaon by Sh. Tejpal tawar ji at PHC Bhondsi and in district Jhajjar by Captain Birdaha, chairman of zila parishad.
The spokesperson said that approximately 60 percent (9 lakhs) children under 5 years of age have been administered polio drops. In order to smoothly carry out this campaign, around 6200 booths were set up in the state and these were manned by approximately 26,000 health officials/volunteers/Anganwari Workers ASHA etc. About 1000 officers/officials supervised the activity apart from State Nodal officers and Independent Monitors of NPSP-WHO. This activity was preceded by undertaking an awareness campaign through print media, miking, and other IEC activities.
The spokesperson said that left out children during the booth activity on 1st day (December 8, 2024) will be administered polio vaccine drops on December 9 and 10 2024 through visit of house-to-house teams in the above mentioned 6 districts, with special focus on high risk areas like slums, isolated hutments, brick kilns, floating/ migrating population and construction sites.
The spokesperson said that it is important to know that due to consistent hard work of all stakeholder departments, India and Haryana are polio free since 2012 and with every successive round of Pulse Polio, it is ensured that Polio free status of India is sustained. Active participation is solicited from General public also.
