Chandigarh, December 11 - During the International Gita Mahotsav at Dharmakshetra-Kurukshetra, Haryana, Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini, Union Minister Sh Manohar Lal, Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj, performed a ‘Deep Daan’ ceremony along with Gita Maha Pujan on the sacred banks of Brahma Sarovar amidst blowing of conches and the chanting of mantras.
The Deepotsav was the main highlight of the evening's Maha Aarti. During the Deepotsav, thousands of lamps were lit on the sacred banks of Sannihit Sarovar and Brahma Sarovar. Additionally, lamps were also illuminated at Kurukshetra and other pilgrimage sites along the 48 Kos.
While extending his wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Deepotsav and Gita Jayanti celebrations, Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that the celebration of Gita Jayanti in Dharmakshetra-Kurukshetra was truly remarkable this year. He highlighted how the Deepotsav, along with the sight of Brahma Sarovar and Kurukshetra adorned with a garland of thousands of lamps, created an inspiring view. He further emphasized that Lord Sh Krishna delivered his message of peace during the Mahabharata war on the very land of Kurukshetra, a message that continues to illuminate the world today through the teachings of the Gita. "Such a message of peace amidst the war of Mahabharata is unparalleled in history," he added.
During the International Gita Mahotsav, the recitation of verses from the holy Gita began before the Gita and Brahma Sarovar Aarti. With the cooperation of various organizations, thousands of lamps were lit at both Sannihit Sarovar and Brahma Sarovar. The entire bank of Brahma Sarovar was illuminated, creating a beautiful and mesmerizing view . This Mahotsav, being a festival for the common people, reflects the commendable efforts of the Kurukshetra administration and the Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB).

The Chief Minister was addressing a seminar organized by the Foreign Cooperation Department in Kurukshetra University on Wednesday.
Shri Nayab Singh Saini further said that the leadership of the Prime Minister teaches us that when the intentions are clear and strong, the country progresses in every field. Under his guidance, we have made Haryana a leader in development and public welfare. Haryana's GDP has grown by 11.3 percent. The per capita income in Haryana has reached Rs. 3,25,759. He further said that the NCR region is being developed as a warehousing logistics hub. In the near future, an airport will be constructed between Kurukshetra and Karnal, providing air connectivity for the people.
He said that every district in Haryana is now connected by highways. The construction of numerous new expressways is progressing rapidly across the state. Haryana has become a major center for agricultural industry inputs. He added that the state government has simplified the process for investors to obtain licenses or permissions for establishing businesses.
He further said that the state government has created a separate Foreign Cooperation Department to maintain continuous contact with investors. In the near future, the state government will organize a major investor meet. He invited investors to invest in Haryana, assuring them that the Haryana government is always ready to support them.
