CHANDIGARH, 27.03.25-The Health Committee and Physical Education Department of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, under the agies of 1 Chd Naval Unit organised a workshop on First Aid. A team of experts from Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali visited the college and gave hands-on experience to students in first aid and CPR. The team of specialists included Dr Damandeep Kaur, Emergency Care, Dr Radhika, Physiotherapist, and Ms Deepshikha Barnabas, Senior Nursing Staff. During the workshop, the participants were apprised of the types of bandages, handling hypo and hyper tension, snakebites, bee bites, and first aid for sprains and fractures. 31 naval cadets and 120 students from Department of Physical Education participated in the event.
Officiating Principal Ms. Suman Mahajan lauded this initiative for equipping students with skills that are crucial for providing immediate, vital assistance in emergency situations, potentially saving lives and preventing injuries from worsening until professional medical help arrives.
