Chandigarh, 15.09.25 : In a heartfelt tribute to departed loved ones, a tree plantation drive was organized on the eve of Pitra Shraddha to honor and remember the parents and ancestors of Er. Anil Kumar Sanghi, Mrs. Sunita Sanghi, and Ms. Ritu Nagia. The event was held at Samriti Van, adjacent to Bird Park near Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh, and brought together a dedicated team from the Environment Society of India, led by Mr. N.K. Jhingan, Secretary of the Society, along with Dr. Ravinder Nath, Er. Ashok Bansal, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, and Mrs. Chandni Sharma, who participated in this symbolic act of remembrance and responsibility toward nature.
The initiative reflects values of gratitude, compassion, and ecological responsibility. Planting trees in memory of one’s parents serves not only as a gesture of respect but also as a contribution toward environmental preservation, reinforcing the belief that our bond with nature continues even after our loved ones have passed.
During the event, six trees were planted, including species such as Peepal, Neem, and Amla, known for their longevity and environmental benefits. The plantation drive was graced by Mr. Anup Soni, Conservator of Forests, Forests Department Chandigarh, who spoke about the importance of honoring traditions while embracing sustainable practices for future generations.
Organizers emphasized that this plantation drive is a meaningful step toward preserving the earth, ensuring that the legacy of our forebears is carried forward through acts of kindness and ecological stewardship.
