Chandigarh, November 5 — Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the Haryana Government has been consistently working with top priority towards Gau Sanrakshan. The government has taken several initiatives for the development of Gaushalas, protection of Gauvansh, and promotion of natural farming.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the inauguration of the Swadeshi National Godhan Summit 2025 on Wednesday, organised under the guidance of Guru Dalip Singh Maharaj at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi, on the occasion of the 556th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The summit, which will continue till November 10, is being attended by many public representatives from across the country.
The Chief Minister also visited the grand Namdhari exhibition set up in the stadium. The six-day summit will provide opportunities for deep discussions and progress on Gau Sanrakshan.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that Gau Seva and farming are complementary to each other. 'Gau Mata' is the foundation of our economy. Since ancient times, in our country, a person owning more cows was considered wealthier. The milk of indigenous cows is extremely beneficial in the prevention and treatment of diabetes and heart diseases, he said.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has emphasized ‘Vocal for Local’ to make India Atmanirbhar. The path of ‘Gau Mata Sanrakshan’ and the strength of ‘Swadeshi’ is what leads us toward Atmanirbhar Bharat. Therefore, we must work actively and wholeheartedly in this direction, he said.
The Chief Minister further said that making the state free from stray cattle is one of the government’s priorities. For this, two Gau Abhyaranyas have been established in Panipat and Hisar, with proper arrangements for sheds, water, and fodder. He added that around 4 lakh Gauvansh are being looked after in 686 Gaushalas across Haryana. Solar energy plants have been installed in 330 Gaushalas. The registration of Gaushala land is done free of cost, and the budget of the Gau Seva Aayog has been increased to Rs. 595 crore, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
Extending greetings on the occasion of Guru Parv, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that Baba Nanak Ji gave us three mantras, Kirat Karni (work with honesty), Vand Chhakna (share with others), and Naam Japna (remember God). He urged everyone to adopt these three principles in life and move forward by following them.
Ms. Jeevan Kaur, Ms. Gurmit Kaur, former MP, Smt. Sunita Duggal, Chairman, Haryana Gau Seva Aayog, Sh. Sarvan Garg, and several other dignitaries and officers also remained present on this occasion.
