Chandigarh, 22 November: The Viksit Bharat Abhiyan Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised an activity titled ‘Roots of Celebration’ with the objective of helping students explore the significance of festivals and traditions in their lives. The initiative encouraged participants to reflect on how cultural practices empower them, deepen their sense of identity, and strengthen their connection to their roots. The activity comprised four categories of competitions, namely Digital Collage, Short Story Writing, Video Testimonial, and Rangoli Making.

The event sparked meaningful reflection among students on aspects like how festivals empower, how traditions unite communities, role of cultural practices in shaping identity, and preservation and promotion of our heritage. The participants demonstrated exceptional creativity, thoughtfulness, and cultural sensitivity. The Roots of Celebration event emerged as a resounding success, with students showcasing profound appreciation for India’s vibrant festivals and timeless traditions.
