DIPR bids warm farewell to Superintendent Grade-I Virender Thakur
A warm farewell ceremony was held today at the Directorate of Information and Public Relations to honour Senior Superintendent Grade-I Virender Thakur on his retirement.
Virender Thakur began his journey with the department on 28th January, 1987 as a Clerk. Over the span of nearly 39 years, he earned immense respect through his sincerity, commitment and unwavering dedication. Known as a highly disciplined and dependable officer, he contributed significantly to strengthening various sections of the department. His work style, professionalism and ability to handle responsibilities with ease made him a valuable asset throughout his service.
Extending his best wishes, Additional Director Mahesh Pathania felicitated and honoured him on behalf of the department. He lauded Virender Thakur’s work ethic, sincerity and the exemplary standards he set for others to follow.
Senior officers and staff members also gathered to convey their wishes and expressing deep appreciation for his decades of dedicated service and extending warm wishes for a peaceful and joyful retirement.

Chief Secretary visits RPGMC Tanda
- Assures early resolution of key issues
The Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta accompanied by the Director General of Police Ashok Tiwari, the Health Secretary M. Sudha Devi, Director Health Services, and Director Medical Education, today visited Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (RPGMC), Tanda, Kangra to review the functioning of the institute and interact with patients and staff.
The Chief Secretary also held a detailed discussion on long-pending issues concerning the Medical College. He assured the Principal and faculty members that all feasible matters would be resolved at the earliest in coordination with the concerned senior officers so as to further strengthen infrastructure, service delivery and patient care.
He also visited the Surgery Department, High Dependency Unit (HDU) and Obstetrics & Gynecology wards, where they interacted with patients, doctors, nursing sisters and reviewed the availability of essential services, patient care systems and overall functioning of the units.
Principal Dr. Milap Sharma, along with senior doctors including Dr. Sanjeev Sharma and Dr. Niraj Gupta, briefed the visiting team about the key achievements, ongoing initiatives other issues requiring attention besides functioning of various departments.
The visit reinforced the State Government’s firm commitment to improving healthcare systems and ensuring high-quality medical services for the people of Himachal Pradesh.
