Three arrested drinking at public place
A case FIR No. 04 u/s 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of ASI Pardeep (1928/CHG) against Vinu @ Jitender, R/o #386, Mauli Jagran, who was apprehended near Hanuman Mandir, Railway Road, Mauli Jagran on 02-01-2026 at about 7:30 pm while drinking alcohol at a public place. The accused was arrested. Later on bailed out.
A case FIR No. 05 u/s 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of ASI Pardeep (1928/CHG) against Rajesh @ Ravi S/o Jai Singh, R/o #227, Railway Colony, Sector-17, Chandigarh, who was apprehended near Wooden Bridge, Mauli Jagran on 02-01-2026 at about 5:00 pm while drinking alcohol at a public place. The accused was arrested.Later on bailed out.
A case FIR No. 06 u/s 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of HC Joginder Singh (3549/CP) against Vijay Pal S/o Shyam Lal, R/o #47, Behlana, Chandigarh, who was apprehended near Wine Shop, Toward Market, Mauli Jagran on 02-01-2026 at about 9:40 pm while drinking alcohol at a public place. The accused was arrested. Later on bailed out.
One arrested under Arms act
A case FIR No. 01 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-11, Chandigarh against Varman @ Syco Dada Mariya, Chandigarh. The accused was apprehended near Dharamshala, Mauli Jagran on 02-01-2026 at about 10:45 pm, and one kamanidar knife was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and kept in police lock-up.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 01 u/s 406, 420 IPC has been registered at Police Station Sector-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Ram Chander Sec-2, Village Buta Singh Wala, Ranchi (Haryana), alleging that Shiv Kumar @ Sonu Kumar, R/o #156, Sec-2, Village Buta Singh Wala, cheated him of ₹11.80 lakh regarding a vehicle loan. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 01 u/s 420, 120B IPC has been registered at Police Station Sector-19, Chandigarh on the complaint of woman resident of Sec-19B, Chandigarh, alleging that Sukhbir and Vineet Kumar cheated the complainant of ₹4,00,000 by inducing her to invest money. Investigation of the Case is in progress.
Cyber Cheating
A case FIR No. 01 u/s 319(2), 318(4), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Cyber Crime Police Station on the complaint of Arman Singh alleging that unknown persons cheated the complainant of ₹48,000. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Abetment to suicide
A case FIR No. 03 u/s 108 BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of woman resident of Sector-52, Chandigarh, against Vikram Singh, Ajay, Ravi, Kaka, Raia and others, alleging that they harassed and threatened her husband, forcing him to commit suicide on 24-08-2024. Investigation of the case is in progress.
