CHANDIGARH, 05.01.26-Enactus Panjab University successfully conducted its 91st workshop under the Mytharche Series at Gur Aasra Trust, with a focused emphasis on Menstrual Health Awareness and the urgent need to dismantle long-standing myths and stigmas surrounding menstruation. The workshop aimed to foster open dialogue and empower individuals to make informed and healthy choices. Speaking about the initiativ, Prof. Seema Kapoor, Faculty advisor, Enactus and President, Chandigarh Corporate Sustainability Council, Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CSC WICCI), highlighted the importance of sensitization initiatives that address taboos through education and community engagement.

The session was led by Dr. Rajni Lamba, who served as the resource person for the workshop. Drawing on her expertise and experience, Dr. Lamba addressed key aspects of menstrual health, including hygiene practices, prevalent misconceptions and the importance of normalizing conversations around menstruation. Her interactive and empathetic approach created a safe and inclusive environment, enabling participants to ask questions and engage in meaningful discussions.

Members of the Gur Aasra Trust community actively participated in the workshop, sharing personal experiences and gaining clarity on menstrual health issues often overlooked due to social taboos. Through real-life examples and structured discussions, the workshop emphasized how awareness can translate into healthier practices and enhanced self-confidence, said Samaira Talwar, Events Head, Enactus. As part of the initiative, reusable cloth based sanitary napkins developed under Project Uday by the Enactus team, in collaboration with CSR Project Amodini of Versatile Group, Ludhiana, were distributed among the participants.

Highlighting the broader vision of the initiative, Harshnoor Kaur, President of Enactus stated that the Mytharche Series is a sustained effort to dispel social myths through education and grassroots engagement. She added that the 91st workshop marked another significant milestone in Enactus PU’s mission to promote health awareness and social responsibility and expressed gratitude to Dr. Rajni Lamba and Gur Asara Trust for their support and collaboration.

Emphasizing the educational value of such initiatives, Prof. Amit Chauhan, Dean Student Welfare, PU, noted that community-based engagements enable students to connect academic learning with real-world impact while addressing societal challenges with empathy, responsibility and purpose.
