Chandigarh, 8 March: The Startup Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with Innovation Mission Punjab, organised an informative session on ‘Entrepreneur and Startup Innovation’ with the objective of creating awareness among students about startup development, innovation-driven business models, and government support mechanisms available to aspiring entrepreneurs.

The session was conducted by Mr. Adhiraj Ahluwalia, Ecosystem Development Manager, Innovation Mission Punjab. Mr. Ahluwalia shared valuable insights into the evolving startup ecosystem and opportunities available for young innovators. He highlighted the importance of identifying real-life problems and developing a strong problem-solution fit while building sustainable ventures. He also elaborated on key aspects of startup development such as understanding market types, analysing competition, assessing Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), and adopting effective market-entry and pitching strategies. During the session, special emphasis was laid on sustainability in business models and the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping modern enterprises and innovation-driven ventures. The session proved to be highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and presenting creative solutions to real-life problem statements.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma emphasised that exposure to innovation ecosystems and interaction with industry experts helps students develop practical insights and confidence to transform their ideas into viable ventures. She further encouraged students to explore emerging opportunities in the startup ecosystem and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s innovation-driven growth.
