CHANDIGARH, 16.04.26-Government schools of Chandigarh have set a new benchmark in the field of education by achieving remarkable results in the CBSE Class X examinations (Session 2025–26). The overall pass percentage this year stands at 88.25%, reflecting a significant increase of 7.07 percentage points compared to 81.18% recorded last year. This improvement not only indicates academic progress but also clearly reflects the effectiveness of administrative measures, academic initiatives, and collective efforts.

Out of a total of 9,358 students who appeared for the examination, 8,257 students passed successfully. Among them, 4,614 were boys and 4,744 were girls, of which 4,050 boys and 4,207 girls qualified respectively. The data also indicates that girls have outperformed boys, highlighting their increasing participation and excellence in education. This improvement becomes even more significant when compared to last year, where 7,940 out of 9,781 students had passed.

Notable progress has also been observed in academic excellence. The number of students scoring above 95% has increased from 11 to 21, while more than 120 students scored above 90%. At the institutional level, 17 schools achieved 100% results, 23 schools recorded results above 95%, and 10 schools achieved results in the range of 90%–95%. The strong performance of a total of 50 schools reflects that improvement is now well-established across the education system.

This success is the result of effective implementation of academic initiatives such as structured revision programmes, remedial classes, continuous assessment, and personalized guidance. The Education Department has ensured quality education through continuous monitoring and targeted strategies.

Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, expressed his happiness over the achievement and stated, “Students of government schools in Chandigarh have brought pride to the city through their outstanding performance.
