Chandigarh,14.09.14:Chandigarh Senior Citizens'; Association organized a Socio-Medical Camp this morning at Govt Model High School, Vikasnagar Maulijagran. This was the 1st camp in a series of such camps and other events forming part of over a month long celebrations culminating in their formal function on 01 October, the International Senior Citizens’ Day . 

Specialists ex Inscol Hospital with truncated Lab and ECG facility provided excellent medical cover, Grewal Eye Institute provided Eye care service. Members  of Sahayta Cancer Sahyog and Dr Sarinda Sethi did awareness about Cancer  and Drug addiction respectively. PGIMER’s Radiology Dept’s Team with Asha Jyoti  Mob Van carried out Mammography and Colposcopy tests . Times Health Care served hearing problem cases.

Directorate of Social welfare provided much needed Socio cover by way of general Awareness Programs, Aam Admi Bima, loans and Pension to below poverty line persons, widows, their children and handicapped persons etc,  To ensure speedy completion of all formalities,   presence of the concerned Patwari, a Notary  was ensured. Team from UT Administration';s Food & Supply Dept rendered awareness about procedure for obtaining Smart Card

 Chief Guest,Shri Anil Kumar,Home Secy UT Administration, Mrs Dr Archana Kumar , Shri Tilak Raj, Director Social Welfare, Councillor Smt  Rajinder  K Rattu, President and Governing Body members  of Chd Sr Citi Association , went round the Camp, interacted with the patients,  service providers and the organizers and congratulated all for highly commendable and meaningful single window  service rendered to our less privileged brethren.

The camp was a grand success. Col SS Bedi ,member Org Team informed that over 600 persons benefitted.

Maj Gen MS Kandal(Retd), the convener , thanked visiting dignitaries, all the Service providers, Organizers,the Head Mistress of the School  her team and team Ex Dir Public relations for their untiring efforts towards making the Camp a grand success.
