Chandigarh-Dated 15.08.2026 -State Bank of India, Local Head Office Chandigarh Circle celebrated 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm on 15TH August 2026.
Shri Amaresh Kumar Jha, Chief General Manager, SBI Chandigarh Circle hoisted the National Flag in the presence of senior Officials, staff members, students and teachers from Govt. Model Sen. Sec. School Sector-8B, Chandigarh. The gathering paid tribute to the National Flag with pride and reverence by singing Vande Matram and the National Anthem.
Shri Amaresh Kumar Jha in his address congratulated everyone on the occasion. He talked about the Bank’s connection with the dreams, hard work and future of millions of Indians. Whether a farmer needs assistance for his crop, youth wants to start his first business, a family wants to build their own home, a student wants to pursue higher education, or a senior citizen wants to keep their savings secure – SBI stands with them at every step, in one way or another. SBI has not only increased employment opportunities but also raised people's living standards.
Reaffirming SBI’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, 25 bicycles were presented to girl students of Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-8B, Chandigarh. The initiative is aimed at supporting the educational journey of young girls and encouraging them to pursue their studies with greater ease and confidence.
The celebration also featured a vibrant cultural programme by the Ladies Club, staff and their family members which added colour, energy and a strong sense of patriotism to the occasion.
The Independence Day celebration reflected the spirit of unity, patriotism and collective responsibility, reaffirming SBI’s commitment to contributing meaningfully towards the progress and development of the nation.
