Three arrested in theft case
A Case FIR No. 121, u/s 305, 331(3), 317(2) BNS, has been registered at Police Station-17, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Ankit R/o House No. 96, Sector-16-A, Chandigarh, against Sunil S/o Sh. Ram Kishore, R/o House No. 4/3, Small Flats, Maloya, Chandigarh, aged 30 years, and Deepak S/o Sh. Chandrabhan, R/o House No. 42/1, Small Flats, Maloya, Chandigarh, aged 27 years. The complainant alleged that the accused stole away a window AC and other iron items from House No. 77, Sector-16, Chandigarh, on 05.09.2026 at about 3:10 PM. Both accused were apprehended on the spot along with Auto Rickshaw No. PB-65BD-5636 and are presently in police custody. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A Case FIR No. 76, u/s 303(2), 317(2) BNS & 26(1)(F), 33 Indian Forest Act, has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Amrinder Singh S/o Dildar, Forest Guard, 2nd Floor, Paryavaran Bhawan, Sector-19B, Chandigarh, against Daljeet Singh @ Golu S/o Ranjit Singh, R/o Village Gopalpur, Morinda, Rupnagar, Punjab, aged 25 years, and others. The complainant alleged that the accused illegally cut and stole Khair wood from the forest area near Hallo Majra Light Point on 05.09.2026 at about 3:15 AM. Accused Daljeet Singh was apprehended on the spot along with vehicle No. HR-26CM-3534 and is in police custody.
A Case FIR No. 148, u/s 303(2), 3(5) BNS, has been registered at Police Station-39, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Ashok Kumar S/o Lt. Gyan Chand, R/o House No. 608/1, Sector-38A, Chandigarh, aged 49 years, against two unknown persons. The complainant alleged that the accused stole one iPhone and ₹25,000 cash from his car near the Sector-38 A & B turn on 05.09.2026 at about 12:30 AM. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested under PP ACT
A Case FIR No. 128, u/s 68(1)(B) Punjab Police Act & 355 BNS, has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran, against Sadik R/o House No. 3828, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, aged 29 years. The accused was apprehended near Himachali Dhaba, Rajiv Colony Road, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, while drinking and creating nuisance at a public place. The accused was later released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.
