Service Committee approves to fill 50 Posts of Junior Office Assistant

        The Chairman, School Board of Education Shri Balbir Tegta in a press statement issued here today informed that the Service Committee has approved filling of 50 posts of Junior Office Assistant and 11 posts of Peons in the Board of School Education against the existing vacancies.

The Service Committee has also approved creation of one post of Controller of Examination equivalent to the post of Joint Secretary in the Board. The process to fill up these posts shall be initiated shortly.

The Chairman thanked the Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh for approving the above proposal of the Board.



 Councilors of Shimla MC to take oath on 19th June

 A Spokesman of Urban Development Department said here today that newly elected Councilors of Municipal Corporation Shimla would be administered the oath on 19 June, 2017 at 3.30 P.M. in Bachat Bhawan DC Office Shimla.

Under the provision of Himachal Pradesh Municipal Corporation (Election) Rules 2012 the newly elected councilors would elect Mayor and Deputy Mayor on the same day immediately after the oath ceremony.


Governor emphasis to develop sports spirit in youth

 Governor Acharya Devvrat emphasized on developing more sports spirit in the youth so that they could be saved from social evils like drug abuse.

 The Governor was speaking at the program organized on the occasion of Olympic torch (race) from Shimla to Hamirpur in the first phase of the Himachal State Olympic Games by the Himachal Olympic Association at the historic Ridge Maidan in Shimla.

 He said that Himachal is known as Dev Bhoomi and it was also called Veer Bhoomi and Himachal Olympic Association has stepped towards making it the Land of Game, which was commendable. Congratulated the efforts of the Association, he said there was no dearth of sports talent in the state but efforts should be made to facilitate them and to make them interested in sports.

 He expressed concern over the growing tendency of drugs in the youth and said that only remedy of it was the games. As much as sports spirit develops in the younger generation, they would be able to put the energy in positive direction. He appreciated the efforts of the organizers' and said that their initiative would help in developing a new environment of sports in the state.

 On this occasion, MP and President, Himachal Olympic Association Shri Anurag Thakur welcomed the Governor and said that the Olympic torch would pass through Solan, Una and finally reached at Hamirpur and more than 50 thousand children were expected to join the race. Many former Olympians and international players would also participate in this race, he added. He said  " Himachal will win if youth will run ". He also introduced Mascot of Himachal Olympic Games named "Jeetu" which is a symbol of snow Leopard.

 President of Asian Kabaddi Association Mr. Janardhan Gehlot also expressed his views on this occasion.

 Shri Rajesh Bhandari, General Secretary, Himachal Olympic Association detailed about the activities of the Association.

 Later, the Governor handed over the Olympic torch to the player.

 Earlier, The Governor also honoured the International players on the occasion.


Governor inaugurates State level Red Cross Fair

 Governor Acharya Devvrat said that the Red Cross was undertaking a pious movement in service of the suffering humanity and all sections of the society should come forward to contribute towards this noble cause. He said that a universal sense of solidarity towards all those in need of help and assistance was important. He appealed to associate more people with Red Cross activities to make it a mass movement.

 The Governor was speaking during the inaugural function of State level Red Cross Fair organized at historic Ridge Maidan in Shimla today. He urged the people to donate liberally towards the State Red Cross so that humanitarian activities could be undertaken to provide succour to the under-privileged. He added that efforts should be made to mobilize resources for gearing up welfare activities and the responsible citizens should associate themselves with the activities of the Red Cross.

He also visited the stalls put up on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of the organizers.

Acharya Devvrat honoured life members, other members and students on the occasion.

A colourful cultural programme was presented by special children from Dhalli school and students of Government School Boileuganj and Government Senior Secondary school Totu .

Honorary Secretary, Red Cross Hospital Welfare Branch Smt. Poonam Chauhan welcomed the Governor and briefed about the activities of Red Cross society.

General Secretary, State Red Cross Shri Pushpendra Rajput, Secretary, Red Cross Shri P.S. Rana, Officers of District Administration, Members and Volunteers of District Red Cross and People of the town were present on the occasion.
