 Action against Gambling

Chandigarh Police arrested Pawan Kumar R/o # 2544, Sector-24, Chandigarh near Light point Sector-24/25, Chandigarh, while playing satta and recovered Rs. 2750/- from his possession. A case FIR No. 135, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered at PS-11, Chandigarh. Accused later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 One arrested in theft case

Sh. Veeru R/o # 1060, Teen Colony, Sector-52, Chandigarhreported that someone stole away his purse containing cash Rs. 400/-, Silver bracelet from his Active Scooter , which was parked at TIN Colony, Sector-52, Chandigarh. A Case FIR No. 171, U/S 379, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Later on accused namely IqbalSingh resident of Village Burail has been arrested in this case and recovered stolen property from his possession. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident Distt. Kaithal, Haryana, harassed her to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 67, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

 A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Dist. Kapurthala, Pb., harassed her to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 68, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Missing/Kidnapping

A lady resident of Chandigarh reported that unknown person abducted complainant’s daughter aged about 10 years from her residence. A Case FIR No. 120, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A Case FIR No. 97, U/S 279 IPC has been registered in PS-Maulijagran, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Ashish Kumar R/o # 414 Omaxe City, Mullanpur, Distt. Mohali against Mulayam Yadav R/o # 31, Saini Vihar, Ph-4, Baltana was driving truck No. PB-65AH-2094, which hit to complainant’s Skoda Car No. CH01AG-3300 on 17.06.2017. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Other

A Case FIR No. 172, U/S 453, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Gopal Singh, Sub Inspector, Enforcement Staff, Estate Officer, UT, Chandigarh against a lady resident of Chandigarh, who disobeyed the orders of DC, UT and using 1st floor and 2nd floor of the house as PG. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 A special drive against consuming liquor at public place is being carried out by Chandigarh Police regularly in different parts of the city

Chandigarh,18.06.17-A special drive against consuming liquor at public place is being carried out by Chandigarh Police regularly in different parts of the city. Yesterday also under this drive total 25 cases were registered in different police stations in the jurisdiction of Chandigarh under 68-1-14 Excise Act in which 25 person were arrested for consuming liquor at public places.

 During this year till date, total 613 cases under Excise Act (505 cases U/S 68-1-14 Excise Act and 108 cases U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act) have been registered in different police stations of Chandigarh under this move.

 Chandigarh Police is strict against every person found breaking the provisions of this law and for abiding the provisions of this law no one will be spared in this concern.  

 If any Hotels, Motels, Restaurants, Dhaba, eating points will be found serving eatables to the persons who are drinking at public then strict action will be taken against owner of these Hotels, Motels, Restaurants, Dhaba, eating points according to the law.

 This drive of Chandigarh Police restrains the drunken driving & road rage as well as petty crime in the city.

 Moreover it is also discouraging social crime such as hooliganism, brawl, spontaneous quarrel which sometimes leads to serious offences also.

It is pertinent to mention here that this drive was initiated with the special concern of safety & security of the female from eve-teasing, chasing/stalking etc. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the provisions of this law.

On 16.06.17, case FIR No. 187 dated 16.06.17 U/s 380,457 IPC was registered regarding night burglary at H. No. 1004 Deep Complex Hallo Majra Chandigarh. An information was received that thieve are going to sell the stolen items to Kabari shop at Ram Darbar Chandigarh. On this information, Naka was laid at Kachha Rasta Ram Darbar Chandigarh. After some time 04 boys were seen coming from Hallo Marja Chandigarh, after seeing the police Naka they tried to run back. The police party chased them and apprehended the suspect alongwith a bag. During interrogation 35 mobile phones, 02 Laptop, 3 LCD, 04 Gas cylinders and 01 small cylinder have been recovered from their possession. The following cases have been worked out.
