Chandigarh 10.07.17:   31 Airwing NCC cadets and 04 Associate NCC officers of No. 1 Chandigarh Air Sqn under Chandigarh NCC group are participating in a  workshop on the topic organised by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth development(RGNIYD),Chandigarh.

        The five-day workshop which began today would create a platform for all the stakeholders to come together and deliberate on the Objectives of the Workshop, which is to discuss and understand Disaster Management, with special reference to the measures for disaster preparedness and risk reduction. The aim of workshop is to train young participants towards disaster preparedness and risk reduction in addition to examine the role of youth in Disaster Management. About the Participants, the workshop includes NCC as the biggest stakeholder from the State. The workshop is being conducted by eminent personalities from different fields which includes Fire Fighting, NDRF, Civil Defence and Red Cross who will expose the cadets and associate NCC officers to the concept.

        The workshop was inaugurated by Col Rakesh Kundlas, Deputy Commander, NCC Group Chandigarh. Speaking on the occasion Col rakesh Kundlasstressed on the importance of the workshop and insisted the students for an active participation in the workshop by advising them to extend their help to support the society whenever required. He called upon the participants to equip themselves to face the risks with the ideas and information gained through this five days workshop.
