 One arrested under NDPS Act

        Chandigarh Police arrested Jeewan @ Rimpy R/o H.No. 732, Sector-40/A, Chandigarh from T-point near Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Sector 56, Chandigarh and recovered 10.2 GM Smack and 22 injections of Buprenorphine & Pheniramine drugs from his possession. A case FIR No. 329, U/S 21, 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against consuming liquor

          Chandigarh Police arrested Parmod Kumar R/o # 3617, BDC, Sector 25, Chandigarh near Staff Parking, PGI, Chandigarh, while consuming liquor public place from his possession. A case FIR No. 208, U/S 68-1-14 has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Accused later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against illicit liquor

        Chandigarh Police arrested a lady resident of Hallomajra, Chandigarh near her house and recovered 36 bottles and 144 quarters of country liquor from her possession. A case FIR No. 250, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Accused later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Two arrested for theft

        Sh. Baljit Singh R/o # 1454/18, Sector 29, Chandigarh alleged that Adnan Khan R/o # 108, Purva Shebaz Lal, Indira Chowk, Meerut (UP) and one lady resident of Meerut (UP) stolen purse of customer at Shop i.e. SCO No 102, Sadar Bazar, Sector-19, Chandigarh on 11-08-17. Both accused arrested from the spot. A case FIR No. 129, U/S 379, 411, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Sh. Vinod Kumar Aggarwal R/o H.No-2467, Sector-37, Chandigarh reported that someone has stolen away one LED and speakers from his Shop No. 26, Sector 18, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 128, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Ashwani Kumar R/o # 5488, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh reported that someone has stolen away Woofer Speaker from his Alto car No. CH01AA-4805 and also stolen away battery of Auto No. CH03K-7756 of another person namely Sonu Kumar R/o # 5408, Maloya, Chandigarh while both vehicles parked near his residence. A case FIR No. 156, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Avinash Pandey @ Sonu R/o H.No-1178, Village Kishangarh, Chandigarh reported that someone has stolen away his Auto No. CH78-T- 2657 from BDC, Sector 26, Chandigarh on 11.08.2017. A case FIR No. 158, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Mahesh Kumar Rai R/o H.No-89, Village Maloya, Chandigarh reported that someone has stolen away his Motor Cycle No. CH-03F-8930 parked near his residence. A case FIR No. 155, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Robbery

Sh. Shiv Shankar Dubey R/o H.No-83/C, Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh alleged that three unknown persons robbed away mobile phone and cash Rs. 100/- near Nala, Village Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh on 11-08-17. A case FIR No. 149, U/S 397, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Missing/Abduction

A person resident of Village Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh reported that his daughter age about 14 years has been missing from her residence since 10.08.2017. A case FIR No. 150, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A person resident of Manimajra, Chandigarh reported that his daughter age about 17 years has been missing from her residence since 10.08.2017. A case FIR No. 125, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 Chandigarh Police today launched a scheme under title “Public Grievances Redressal Campaign” in all police stations of Chandigarh for the Redressal of public grievances/complaints.

Chandigarh,12.08.17-To bring greater transparency and accountability in police functioning, Chandigarh Police today launched a scheme under title “Public Grievances Redressal Campaign” in all police stations of Chandigarh for the Redressal of public grievances/complaints. The main idea behind this scheme is to Redress/disposal of maximum complaints/grievances of general public more effectively and in short span of time. For this purpose, 2nd Saturday of every month has been fixed as the “Public Grievances Redressal Campaign”.

 

       Today, All SHOs along with E/Os were present in the police station from 10 AM to 2 PM. SDPOs of each sub-division had also personally reviewed the process by spending adequate time at each police station of their sub-division.

 

       During this camp, total 257 complainants/petitioners visited the Police Stations to know the present status of their complaints. The facts of complaints were discussed with complainants. Police Station wise summary is as under:-

Chandigarh Police achieved a success with the arrest of Sunny S/o Late Sh. Karan Singh R/o Adarsh Colony Village Naya Gaon, Punjab

Chandigharh,12.08.17-Chandigarh Police achieved a success with the arrest of Sunny S/o Late Sh. Karan Singh R/o Adarsh Colony Village Naya Gaon, Punjab Age about 19 years & apprehend a Juvenile on secret information, a team of  Police Station lead by SHO/PS-03, Chd under the supervision of SDPO/Central laid a trap near Rajindera Park near Chandigarh Club and apprehend the said persons at 6.15 pm. On questioning they admitted that today i.e. 11.08.2017, at about 5.30 am, they (Sunny & Juvenile) have robbed the gold chain from lady in park Sector 10, chd and following case has been worked out, where was registered on the complaint of a lady resident of Sector 3, Chd

In another case, Rohit S/o Vinay Pal R/o Soni Lal Bara Village Kaimbwala Chd Age 19 has been arrested on secret information by a team lead by SHO/PS-03, Chd under the supervision of SDPO/Central, who laid a trap near Village Kaimbwala, Chd and apprehend the said person at 7.30 pm. On questioning, he admitted regarding theft of batteires of buses from Village Kaimbwala, Chd, thereon case FIR No 150 dated 11.8.17 u/s 379 IPC PS – 03, Chd had already been registerd on the complaint of Sh Manjit Singh.

Chandigarh,12.08.17-In view of the Independence Day Function at Parade Ground Sector 17, Chandigarh, the following traffic restrictions/diversions shall be imposed by Chandigarh Traffic Police on 15.8.2017.  The road users are therefore, advised to make use of alternative routes during the timings given below.  Inconvenience caused to general public on account of these restrictions is regretted:-

 

 

 

AROUND PARADE GROUND SECTOR 17:

 

 

 

  1. The road stretch from round-about of Sector 16/17/22/23 upto Gurdial Singh Petrol Pump, Sector 22-A on Udyog Path, from crossing sector 16/17 upto round-about of sector 16/17/22/23 on Jan Marg and from light point near Lyon’s Restaurant Sector 17 upto Parade Ground, shall remain closed to general public with vehicles from 6.00 AM onwards on 15.8.2017 till the function at parade Ground is over.

 

 

 

  1. No parking shall be allowed in the parking area in front of shops in market of sector 22-A from 6.00 AM onwards till the function is over.

 

 

 

  1. Special invitees having Car Parking Labels on their vehicles shall be allowed entry from the round-about of sector 16/17/22/23 on Udyog Path and they are requested to park their vehicles in the parking area in front of the market of sector 22-A.

 

 

 

  1. The general public is requested to park its vehicles in the parking area of sector 22-B adjacent to Blood Disease Hospital sector 23-B, on the rear side of Neelam Cinema Sector 17, in the parking of Football Stadium and in the Circus Ground Sector 17.

 

 

 

  1. All the buses coming from Haryana, Punjab, HP and other places to ISBT Sector 17, Chandigarh shall be diverted towards ISBT Chowk from Bajwara Chowk and Piccadilly Chowk via Himalya Marg & enter ISBT Sector 17.

  1.
