HIPA training now through video conferencing : Director HIPA

 Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) has established a training set up for video conferencing with its main studio installed at Fairlawn Shimla. Class rooms have been made available at all blocks in the state including Panchyati Raj Training Centre Mashobra and offices located at Baijnath.


Director, HIPA Smt. Madhubala Sharma disclosed here today that the state government had decided that training will be given to officers and officials of different departments working in the field near their working places. Facility of video conferencing is now available in all the departments of the state. The system will not only save travel expenses, but also precious time, besides being facility to learn near their working places.



42 gazetted & 11 restricted holidays declared for 2018

    The state government has declared 42 gazetted holidays in all including 3 gazetted holidays for women employees, alongwith 16 separate gazetted holidays under Negotiable Instrument Act,1881 for the employees working in all government offices/boards/corporations/ educational institutions of the state for the year 2018.

According to the notification issued here today, the government employees can also avail  two restricted holidays during the year. The Deputy Commissioners have been authorized to declare two local holidays within their jurisdiction  in connection with the celebration of important fairs and festivals in their respective districts during the year 2018.


 1,15,47,151 apple boxes reach market

 A spokesman of Horticulture department said here today that till date, 1,15,47,151 boxes of apples have been exported to major markets in the country from the state. Royal Delicious A quality medium grade was sold for Rs.780 per box of 20 kg capacity, Red Delicious for Rs.600 and Golden Delicious for Rs.470 per box. He said 11,629 metric tonnes of apples have been procured under market intervention scheme by HPMC and HIMFED.

COSAMB to host World Congress for first time in India in October, 2018: Manglate

       In an Executive and General Body Meeting of  the National Council of State Agricultural Marketing Boards (COSAMB)  at New Delhi,  the Chairman, COSAMB, Dr. Subhash Chand Manglate,  who is also the Chairman HP State Agriculture Marketing Board (HSAMB)  emphatically stressed upon the issues of hill States in general and Himachal Pradesh in particular with specific reference to apple farmers. The role of Azadpur market with respect to Himachal Pradesh  & Jammu & Kashmir apple growers and payment settlement system was discussed in length.

He highlighted the role of State Agriculture Marketing Boards and emphasized on Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunity and Threat (SWOT) analysis of COSAMB and stressed on Model Act, collaboration with institutions, training needs, research etc.

Dr. Manglate informed the house that COSAMB and HSAMB will host next World Congress jointly in India for the first time in October, 2018, which will be attended by more than 50 Countries of the World and mark representation of around 100 market managing authorities. 

Technical action plan of COSAMB was also approved for the next year.

Former Minister of Agriculture and Chairman Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Mrs. Krishna Gahlawat, Chairman Goa SAMB Mr. Ulhas G. Asnodkar and other Chairmen and senior officials of different State Agricultural Marketing Boards were also present on the occasion.   

The meeting was attended by 25 members from 12 states.
