 One arrested under NDPS Act

        Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Bemilola Samuel (Nigerian) age 20 years near Petrol Pump near Paddy Mandi Chowk, Chandigarh and recovered 17.11 GM Heroin from his possession. A case FIR No. 407, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against illicit liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Sourav R/o # 628, Village Attawa, Sector-42, Chandigarh from backside Wine Shop, Sector-22/B, Chandigarh and recovered 28 Bottles of Country liquor from his possession. A case FIR No. 313, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Accused later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for applying fake number plate

Chandigarh Police arrested Shera R/o Jhuggi No. 42, Block-M, Colony No. 4, Chandigarh near Bus Stop, Sector 43, Chandigarh and recovered Activa Scooter bearing fake registration No. PB65-AP-9496 on 20.09.2017. A Case FIR No. 329, U/S 473, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Deterred public Servant

A Case FIR No. 195, U/S 332, 353 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh against Avtar Singh R/o # 55, Ward No. 1, Haveli Bassi, Banur, Mohali (PB) who manhandled and broken tooth of HC Om Singh while he was apprehended by complainant near Small Chowk, Sector 2/3, Chandigarh on 20.09.2017. Accused arrested in this case.  Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for Robbery

A lady resident of PU, Sector 14, Chandigarh reported that unknown driver of motor cycle No. 6819 robbed her purse containing ATM card, mobile phone, documents & cash Rs. 2000/- near Kisan Mandi, Sector 15, Chandigarh on 20.09.2017. A case FIR No. 286, U/S 392 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Later accused namely Avtar Singh R/o # 55, Ward No. 1, Village Banaur, Haveli Bassi, Distt. Mohali, (PB) Age 23 years has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel

Sh. Akash R/o # 2469, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh alleged that Golu, Bhagwan Dass @ Lalla, Kewal, Kanwarpal and others attacked on complainant and beaten him with rods, sticks and sharp weapon near H.No. 2632, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh on 19.09.2017. Complainant got injuries and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 180, U/S 147, 148, 149, 323, 307 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli jagran, Chandigarh. Three accused namely Pardeep @ Golu, Kewal and Bhagwan Dass @ Lalla R/o # 2629, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Kewal R/o # 2629, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh alleged that Rajesh, Suraj, Lalu, Akash, Kailash, Pappu and others attacked on complainant and beaten him with rods, sticks and sharp weapon near H.No. 2632, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh on 19.09.2017. Complainant got injuries and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 180, U/S 147, 148, 149, 323, 307 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli jagran, Chandigarh. Accused namely Rajesh # 2442, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh, Akash # 2469, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh, Lalu # 2438, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh and Pappu # 2469, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 Sh. Ajay Shah R/o Jhuggi No. 102, Adarsh Colony, Sector 54, Chandigarh alleged that Tripun Paswan, Upinder Paswan, Tun Tun Paswan & Gulshan Paswan R/o Sector 54, Chandigarh beaten complainant near Gurudwara, Sector 54, Chandigarh on 06.09.2017. A Case FIR No. 406, U/S 323, 324, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Eve-teasing

        A girl resident of Chandigarh alleged that a boy namely Irfan eve-teased & misbehaved with her at Mauli Complex, Chandigarh on 20.09.2017. A Case FIR No. 182, U/S 354, 354A, IPC & 12 POCSO ACT 2012 has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Accused namely Irfan R/o # 976, Rajiv Colony, Sector 17, Panchkula (HR) age 19 years has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 

        A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that five unknown boys abused and molested her at Main Market, Daddu Majra Colony, Chandigarh on 19.09.2017. A Case FIR No. 188, U/S 294, 354, 354D, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh.  Investigation of the case is in progress.

 

Attempt to Murder

A lady resident of Manimajra, Chadnigarh alleged that her husband Gurwinder Singh and father-in-law Kashmir Singh R/o # 218, Basant Vihar, Phase-2, Dhakoli, Distt. Mohali (PB) and Rash Pal @ Rinku R/o Mauli Complex, Booth Market, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh tried to kill her by set her on fire near DC Montessori School, Gobindpura, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 19.09.2017. She has been admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 237, U/S 307, 120B IPC has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Accused Gurwinder Singh and Rash Pal @ Rinku have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 

Missing

        Sh. Bir Singh R/o # C-49, Sec-74, SAS Nagar, (PB) reported that his father-in-law namely Heera Singh age about 60 years and his son Karan age about 9 years have been missing near GMCH-32, Chandigarh since 15.09.2017. A Case FIR No. 362, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh.  Investigation of the case is in progress.

 

MV Theft

        Sh. Raj Kumar R/o # 432/C, Sector-33A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away his M/Cycle No. CH01AZ-9731 while parked at backside of SCO No. 146-147, Sector 34A, Chandigarh on 20.09.2017. A Case FIR No. 363, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in PROCESS

  Chandigarh Traffic Police        

Chandigarh Traffic Police is conducting special drive against drunken driving in the city by organizing nakas using breath analyzers on different locations near pubs, clubs, bars, restaurants and hotels.  For community participation, traffic marshals are also present at these nakas.

                   On 20.9.2017, Traffic Police organized special nakas in the city at various places to check drunken driving and booked 97 offenders for this violation and their vehicles were also impounded. Challan documents have been forwarded to District Court for further legal proceedings. It is pertinent to mention that during this year upto 20.9.2017, 4389 offenders have been booked for the violation of drunken driving.

                   As per Section 185 of Motor Vehicle Act 1988, he/she shall be punishable for the first offence with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees, or with both.

                   Further as per Sector 20 (2) of Motor Vehicle Act 1988, his/her driving license shall be disqualified for a period of not less than six months.

                    As per Section 22(2) of Motor Vehicle Act 1988, if a person, having been previously convicted of an offence punishable under section 185 is again convicted of an offence punishable under that section, the Court, making such subsequent conviction, shall, by order, cancel the driving licence held by such person”.

                   Chandigarh Traffic Police appeals to the general public to avoid driving in drunken condition and also ensure that a sober person drives in such situation or alternate means of transport are engaged.
