New Delhi, September 23:  The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) organized a three day mega camp on various schemes launched by the Centre government and respective state government for the sikh community members residing in Assam and Meghalaya.

       Camp was organized under the guidance of the the President S. S. Manjit Singh G. K. and S. Manjinder Singh Sirsa General Secretary of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC).

       Under the aegis of DSGMC the MASS Department headed by Mrs. Ranjeet Kaur, Member DSGMC and HOD MASS Department organized a three days minority welfare scheme awareness camp for the weaker section of the society specially for minority community at Shilong (Meghalaya), Nogaon and Guwahati (Assam).

       The other three members of team Harpreet Singh, Kishandeep Singh and Gurpreet Singh created awareness about the various centrally sponsored schemes at the above mentioned venues. The team enlightened the local people belonging to minority segment of the society regarding Pre Matric, Post Matric, Merit Cum Means, Maulana Azad and Padho Pardesh. They also guided all present regarding the eligibility criteria and how to apply for those schemes and take their benefits. Almost at all the venues where the camps were held, the response of the local people was very enthusiastic and they were very thankful towards the President S. Manjit Singh G. K. and General Secretary S. Manjinder Singh Sirsa for making this special effort, first of its kind.

People shared their problems and put forth their request mainly for opening of a Sangat Sewa Kendra for the awreness of Minority Welfare Schemes and Gurmukhi Learning Centre. It was promised to them that very shortly Sangat Sewa Kendra and Gurmukhi Learning Centre will be started in their area as per their request. The planning has already started for the same.

The minority team came back very satisfied and motivated as the camps organized by them were a great success. The MASS Department under the aegis of DSGMC plans to hold such camps in future also.
