Chandigarh,13.10.17-“Bruises fade but the pain lasts forever” – Sexual abuses on children are a big blot on society, it shakes the human consciousness and retards normal health growth of the children.

Keeping in mind the safety of children from Sexual Offences and Assaults, a workshop on ‘POCSO” was organized for Class IX students at KBDAV-7, Chandigarh on 13th October 2017.

Ms. Niti Mohan, Consultant POCSO, CCPCR and Ms. Anu Shree, Counsellor Women and Child helpline took an interactive session using PowerPoint Presentations which was an Eye-Opener for the learners. Many important issues like Safe and effective use of Internet, Digital technology to avoid Cyber Bullying and Life threatening games were touched upon. Child Welfare Helpline numbers were circulated by the team.

Sharing her views, Sukhnoor Kaur of Class IX says, “For the first time, I got to know the difference between Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault.” Similar version was given by Aditya Gautam who says, “My body, My privacy. I need to be watchful myself.”

The workshop concluded with a pledge that says, “I remain firm in the fight and raise my voice until, there are No More Stolen Childhoods!”
