Chandigarh,18.11.17-On 16.11.2017, on the basis of specific information Narcotics Control Bureau Chandigarh Zonal under the direction of Dr. Kaustubh Sharma, IPS, Zonal Director, NCB Chandigarh, a team of NCB headed by Shri Kuldeep Sharma, Superintendent, NCB Chandigarh seized 09.720 Kgs. of Charas kept in Toyota Innova bearing registration number HP-02-K-1463 and arrested two person namely Tule Ram  S/o Tape Ram resident of village Khokan, Tehsil Bhunter, Kullu (H.P.) and another person namely Bhupinder Singh S/o Indrajit Singh resident of VPO Khokhan, Tehsil Bhunter, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. During preliminary enquiry Tule Ram disclosed that he had supplied Charas several times earlier to Delhi and Chandigarh. He brings Charas from Kullu (H.P.) and supply it in Delhi, Chandigarh and Faridabad region. The Charas packed in 20 small packets of 500 gms each were concealed behind the dash board of the vehicle in a specially designed secret cavity of Toyota Innova.  The contraband seized is in the three types viz. Small balls and in cylindrical(7-8 cms.) form covered with transparent, green and yellow polythene covers. The quality of all different types of seized contraband is being accessed with the help of FSL authorities. This is the first time that the Charas was seized in cylindrical (7-8 cms.) form. The source of the Charas is being investigated. In the year 2017 NCB Chandigarh seized 40 kgs of Charas in 09 cases and arrested 14 persons.  As per the past investigations done in the cases till date it is found that Charas is being supplied from Kullu and Chamba regions of Himachal Pradesh. It is also revealed in the investigation of the recent seizure, the Charas and Opium also being supplied from Theog area of Himachal Pradesh. In the present case the contraband is concealed in the secret cavity in such a way that normal checking could not identify the secret cavity without any specific information. This is the 75th seizure effected by NCB in the year 2017. 

NCB Chandigarh unit is co-ordinating action in Kasol (H.P.) to find out drug supply points in Kasol. The unit during sudden checking of hotels in Kasol on 15.11.2017 recovered 20 stamps of LSD and 2 grams cocaine from a lady in Green Valley hotel and from another person who had taken hotel Krishna Palace on lease recovered 167 grams of Chars. Cases were registered at P.S. Bhunter. Shri Mohinder Jit Singh, Assistant Director, NCB Chandigarh and Sh. Aashish Kumar Ojha led the operations.
