Chandigarh, Jan 11 – Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu said that demonetisation and ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana’ are the two significant and revolutionary decisions of the present government which have brought change in roles and responsibilities of bankers towards the nation.

He said that three years ago, only three per cent population had access to banks as there were only 3.5 crore bank accounts which has now increased to over 29 crore. Apart from this, transactions of Rs 1,800 crore were made under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana. Out of these total bank accounts, 80 per cent are active, he added.

Similarly, more than 600 fake companies have been identified. This has put a check on terrorism and Maoists, and Indian rupee has shined at international level.
