CHANDIGARH POLICE BRIEF  & OTHER ACTIVITIES DATED

 Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 3 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 3 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 3 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All accused later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-MM= 1 case, PS-36 = 1 case and PS-49= 1 case. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against Gambling

Chandigarh Police arrested Mohinder Singh R/o # 1935, Village Burail, Chandigarh while he was gambling near Rehri Market, Village Burail, Chandigarh and recovered cash Rs. 1150/- from his possession. A case FIR No. 57, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Accused later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Theft

A lady resident of Ropar (PB) reported that unknown person stolen away her purse containing documents and mobile phone from Market, Sector 22-D, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 45, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel

Sh. Abhishek Sood R/o # 590, Deep Nagar, Village Kajehri, Sector-52, Chandigarh alleged that Deepak Kumar R/o # 2035, Small Flats, Dhanas, Chandigarh beaten/threatened complainant at Nehru Park, Sector 22, Chandigarh on 08.02.2018. A case FIR No. 46, U/S 323, 324, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Accused has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 47, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Smt. Seema R/o Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh who alleged that driver ofBullet M/Cycle No. CH46(T)-9672 namely Ravi Shek Tiwari R/o # 1420/24, Ph-11, Mohali, (PB) hit to complainant and her daughter Sonia age 3 years (pedestrian) at dividing road, Sector-21/22, Chandigarh on 09.02.2018. Both got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh where Sonia expired during treatment. Accused arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 78, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Ishwar Lal R/o # 3511, Sector-15D, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of M/Cycle No. HP53A-5305 namely Sidharth Pathania R/o # 5369/2, MHC, Manimajra, Chandigarh hit to complainant’s Auto No. CH04L-1682 near BSNL turn, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 07.02.2018. Complainant got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Kulwinder Singh R/o # 273, PWT, Manimajra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away his Eterno scooter No. HR49B-2992 from parking of Shanti Nagar, Manimajra, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 77, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Jaspal R/o Village Barwala, Ramgarh, Panchkula, (HR), reported that unknown person stolen away his M/Cycle No. HR03L-6573 from parking of main Market, Manimajra, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 79, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

        Sh. Anupam Setia R/o # 535, Sector-44A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away gold and silver jewelry from his residence on 09.02.2018. A case FIR No. 56, U/S 380, 454 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A community policing initiative by Chandigarh Police for ‘Youth Skill Development’ at Infosys

 

 Chandigarh,10.02.18= Today, a Training  Session on skill development was organized for the children/students of slum areas/colonies in collaboration with Infosys at Infosys Building, IT Park, Chandigarh under the guidance of Sh. Tajender Singh Luthra, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh.  

 

        Sh. Tajender Singh Luthra, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh inaugurated this Skill Development training session along with Ms. Nilambari Jagdale, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, UT, Chandigarh. The youth/children under age group from Class 10th to undergraduate were got involved from slum areas/colonies lying in jurisdictions of different police stations of Chandigarh. The pick & drop facility was also provided to the students by Chandigarh Police.

 

        Sh. Vikas Ahuja, Development Centre Head – Infosys Chandigarh explained various scenarios where the Information Technology can be beneficial for the youths. The objective of the session was to provide an opportunity where experts would explain the importance of Communication Skills and offer technical training sessions to youngsters. Total 90 students/children were imparted training on skill development i.e. communication skill, computer knowledge, computer typing, online transactions, online booking, online purchasing etc.

 DGP/UT in his speech said ‘these kinds of training will enable the youth to learn skilled courses and helpful for their better future. It will also give them better placements.

 This type of community policing initiative will be continuing in future and will also be planned to organize such skill development training at computer lab of RTC, Police Lines, Chandigarh for these students.
