 One arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Sarabjit Singh @ Lucky R/o # 420 Ph-1 Mohali, (PB) near light point, Sector 38/38W, Chandigarh and recovered 30 injections of Buprenorphine & Pheniramine Maleate drugs from his possession. A case FIR No. 61, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

        Sh. Gurwant Singh, Asstt. Manger, Exchange TNL, R/o # HL-64, Ph-2, Mohali, (PB) reported that unknown person stolen away 46 battery cells from battery bank, Exchange TNL from backside of SCF No. 20, Sector 27, Chandigarh on night intervening 10/11.02.2018. A case FIR No. 45, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Ispreet Singh R/o Guru Tej Bahadur Nagar, Ward No 10, Sector-14, Kharar, Distt-Mohali (PB), reported that unknown person stolen away his M/Cycle No PB-65W-9298 while parked in front of Gate No. 2, DLF Building, I.T. Park, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 33, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Murder

A case FIR No. 25, U/S 302, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh against 3/4 unknown person who stabbed and murdered one person namely Pawan Sahu R/o 1848, Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh near Community Centre, Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on 11.02.2018. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel

Sh. Mukesh R/o # 181, Village Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh alleged that 4 boys resident of Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh beaten complainant near his house on 11.02.2018. A case FIR No. 26, U/S 341, 323, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Later four boys apprehended and sent to juvenile home. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Missing/Kidnapped

A person resident of Kaithal (HR) reported that her daughter age about 17 years has been missing/kidnapped from Sector 34, Chandigarh since 11.02.2018. A case FIR No. 60, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

        A case FIR No. 22, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the statement of Sh. Roop Singh R/o Gurudwara Sanjha Saheb, Sector-63, Chandigarh against driver of Ciaz car No. PB65AK-8011 who sped away after hitting to one pedestrian person namely Mohamad Ayub R/o Village Kumbra, Mohali (PB) at dividing road Sector-50/63, Chandigarh. Pedestrian person got injured and admitted in GMCH, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

        A case FIR No. 41, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint a girl resident of Sector-35, Chandigarh against driver of Auto No. PB65AK-0364 who sped away after hitting to Complainant’s Activa Scooter No. HR08H-2369 at dividing road Sector-35/36, Chandigarh. Complainant and pillion rider (a girl) got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

  Special drive against consuming liquor

Chandigarh,12.02.18-In continuation of special drive against consuming liquor at public place which is being carried out by Chandigarh Police regularly in different parts of the city, in this regard on 10 & 11 February 2018, under this drive total 43 cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC were registered in different police stations in the jurisdiction of Chandigarh in which 43 persons were arrested for consuming liquor at public places. All accused later bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered are:- PS-11 = 04 cases, PS-Sarangpur = 1 case, PS-17 = 03 cases, PS-19 = 2 cases, PS-26 = 1 case, PS-IA = 3 cases, PS-MM = 4 cases, PS-IT Park = 02 cases, PS-MJ = 1 case, PS-31 = 8 cases, PS-34 = 2 cases, PS-36 = 3 cases, PS-39 = 5 cases, PS-49= 1 case and PS-Maloya = 3 case.

 

Chandigarh Police is strict against every person found breaking the provisions of this law and for abiding the provisions of this law.  This drive of Chandigarh Police restrains the drunken driving & road rage as well as petty crime in the city. Moreover it is also discouraging social crime such as hooliganism, brawl, spontaneous quarrel which sometimes leads to serious offences also.

 

It is pertinent to mention here that this drive was initiated with the special concern of safety & security of the female from eve-teasing, chasing/stalking etc. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the provisions of this law.
