 CM visits fire affected Lakkar Bazar Shopkeepers

Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur visited Lakkar Bazar here today where seven shops and one ATM reduced to ashes in a fire incident last night.

Chief Minister assured the affected shopkeepers that Government would provide all possible assistance to them for starting their business.

Education Minister Shri Suresh Bhardwaj and senior officers of State Government were also present on the occasion.

Rupees ten thousand each is being provided to the affected shopkeepers as immediate relief by the district administration, Shimla.

Fleet of Electric vehicles  will be strengthened in the      State: Transport Minister

 HRTC has successfully inducted electric taxies in public transport network of Shimla city and the fleet of electric taxies and vehicles will be further strengthened in the State, said Transport Minister Shri Gobind Singh Thakur here today. He said that electric taxies inducted three days back in the city had successfully covered 275 kilometers first day on identified routes.

 

Himachal Pradesh is the first State in Country which has been operating environment friendly taxies on pilot basis. The Government is actively considering to increase the fleet of electric vehicles in near future, after successful trial of these vehicles on roads in different parts of the State.

 

He said all the taxies inducted in Shimla city were operational and plying smoothly providing pollution free service to commuters in the city. It may be noted that HRTC has been operating electric bus services in and around Kullu Manali areas on trial basis.
