Mumbai,24.02.2018. Cinestar of the Millennium Mr. Amitabh Bachchan released a coffee table book titled “Geeton Ke Darvesh : Gopal Das Neeraj" at his Juhu residence "Janak" in Mumbai. The book has been published by Help U Educational and Charitable Trust of Lucknow, U.P. to commemorate the contribution of Mahakavi Padambhushan Dr. Gopal Das Neeraj to hindi literature as well as for penning a large number of songs for hindi films. The coffee table book has been dedicated to doyen of Hindi Chhayawad poetry (Nk;kokn dfork) and Kavi Sammelans (dfo lEesyuksa) Late Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan, who was the father of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. Dr. Gopal Das Neeraj a very famous poet has enthusiastically heralded the tradition of Kavi Sammelans initiated by Late Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
Speaking on the occasion the Founder Trustee of Help U Educational and Charitable Trust,Mr. Harsh Vardhan Agarwal said that taking note of the popularity of Neeraj Ji and his creative skill in composing hindi poems, he was invited to Mumbai by great artists and music directors of the film industry. During his sojourn in Bombay for about five years, Neeraj Ji came in close contact with famous cinestars like, Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor, Manoj Kumar besides famous music directors like S.D. Burman, Roshan, Shankar Jai Kishan, Jai Dev, Hemant Kumar etc. Neeraj Ji has also been honoured/feliciated with Filmfare Awards for penning down best lyrics for songs of Indian Cinema, Like, Woh hum na the,woh tum na the, Shokhiyon main ghola jaye phoolon ka shabaab, Aaj madhosh hua jaaye re, Swapn jhare phool se,meet chubhe shool se, Likhe jo khat tujhe, Ae bhai! On this occasion Mr. Harsh Vardhan Agrawal disclosed, that 94 year old nonagenarian poet Dr. Gopal Das Neeraj, during a telephonic conversation with cinestar Amitabh Bachchan, has thanked him for releasing a coffee table book on him and his poetic journey of about 78 years. Mr. Harsh Vardhan Agarwal and his creative wife Dr. Rupal Agrawal have edited the coffee table book. Dr. Rupal Agarwal said that poet Neeraj Ji himself has mentioned in his write ups that he was inspired to compose hindi poetry after reading the poetic work Nisha Nimantran (fu'kk fuea=.k) penned by Late Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Elaborating the activities of the trust Dr. Rupal Agrawal said that she and the members of her trust are actively involved in educational, cultural and other social welfare activities in rural as well as urban areas.
