 CS to contribute towards construction of Martyrs memorial at Bilaspur

 Chief Secretary Shri Vineet Chawdhry has announced to contribute his one day salary towards Martyrs memorial to be constructed under 'Ek Eint Shaheed ke Naam' campaign in the Bilaspur district.

 Convener of the campaign Shri Sanjeev Rana said that objective of construction of Martyrs' memorials was to aware the coming generations of sacrifices made by these brave persons. He said first Martyr memorial in Himachal Pradesh will be constructed at Bilaspur with people involvement. He said contribution for the memorial in the form of one brick and construction material will be accepted. No cash will be taken for this campaign. Volunteers will go house to house to connect with common man for the campaign.


Health Minister attends “END TB” Summit

Health Minister Shri Vipin Singh Parmar participated in the “END TB” Summit organized by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in New Delhi today. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Summit whereas Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri J.P Nadda was also present on the occasion.

Deliberations were held on eradication of Tuberculosis by 2025 from the country and to evolve a plan for speedy execution with the support of all states.

Shri Parmar delivered a presentation about the implementation of Tuberculosis eradication in the State. He informed that the State Government had already geared up for completely eliminating this dreaded disease, TB from the society. He said that case detection rate and treatment success rate of Himachal Pradesh are very good and added that according to NITI Ayog report 2018, H P secured first position in TB Patients registration. He said that 16000 patients have been registered during 2017-18  due to active efforts and at present 450 MDR Tuberculosis patients are under treatment in the state. State is the first to provide nutrition to MDR patients which has now been adopted by most states, he said.

The Health Minister said that Himachal Pradesh will be the first state to launch Mukhya Mantri Kshay Rog Yojna on 24th March on World Tuberculosis Day and added that a budget provision of Rs 2 crore has been proposed for the same. He further informed that so far there are no modern tuberculosis labs in the state but now Govt. of India has sanctioned Rs one crore for setting up  modern tuberculosis labs out of which 50 lakh each have been provided to IGMC Shimla and H P Govt TBS Dharampur . 15 C B NAAT modern machines have been installed in all the districts during last one year whereas three machines have been recently installed at Rampur, Palampur and Nurpur, he added.

Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP) has been implemented in the State in a phased manner and H P secured second position during the N H M programme award function at Indore, he added.

Representatives from various states and concerned officers of Govt of India attended the Summit.


 CM mourns death of BJP leader

Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur has mourned the demise of former BJP Block President Mandi Chetan Sharma, who passed away today at PGIMER Chandigarh following a cardiac arrest.

The Chief Minister said he was his personal friend and was a very kind hearted person. He prayed to the Almighty for peace of the departed soul and expressed his sympathies with the bereaved family members.
