KAPURTHALA,19.03.18-Innovations play an important role in the Health Sciences. Consequently ,we are proficient to fight with the deadly diseases.  Earlier, diseases viz. Cancer and Tuberculosis were considered to be critical and were not curable. These days the success rate to cure these diseases with the advent of novel  techniques is quite high.  The transplantation of organs like heart, liver, pancreas and  knee with almost 100% success showcase advancements in Health Sciences.  These views were expressed by Dr. Raj Bahadur, Vice Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Science Faridkot on the occasion of prize distribution function of Inno-Tech 2018 held at Science City Kapurthala. The event also marked the celebration of 13th Annual day of Science City.      

He said that innovation is not only limited to the treatment of diseases, revolutionary progress has been witnessed in the field of diagnostics as well.  It has now become very easy to diagnose main root cause of serious diseases with the help of X-ray, CT Scan, Supper Scan and MRI.  Further, he added that foetus growth can be monitored  and safe delivery of new born is assured with the help of advance techniques these days. Bio-sensors based diagnostic kits are quite helpful in detecting the sugar level without piercing the skin.

Mohammad Tayyab, IAS Director General cum Deputy Commissioner, Kapurthala on this occasion said that development at any phase is always linked with technology and technology happens when there is advancement in Science. Science & Technology makes daily life smooth, easy going and convenient. It also makes us intellectually sound and strong. The dream of India to become a developed nation by 2020 would only be possible if innovation was given its due. Further he said, over the decades, innovation and creativity have become critical skills for achieving success in developed economies. Creativity goes hand in hand with innovation. And there is no innovation without creativity. While creativity is the ability to produce new and unique ideas, innovation is the implementation of that creativity - that's the introduction of a new idea, solution, process, or product. Creativity is the driving force behind innovation and the incorporation of looking at things from a different perspective and freedom of restrictions by rules and written or unwritten norms. He further said that the INNOTECH serve as a platform for the students – especially the budding technocrats – to exhibit their professional acumen. The competition receives an enthusiastic response from the students and display of projects/models developed by the students of the engineering colleges and polytechnic colleges during this tech-fest has become an eagerly awaited annual feature, he added.

Result of Competitions: 

MECH-TRONIC (Polytechnic  )   Rachin Bhalla  from GNDPL stood first (Project: Think N’ Create  ) and  second  prize goes to Satpal Singh  from GNA University  ( Project: Vehicle Security ) and third prize has been achieved by Manvir Singh Puri from Thaper University Patiala   (project : LED Based Solid Panel )

MECH-TRONIC (         Engineering ) : Manraj Singh Ladhar from GNDU Amritsar  (
Taxla Coiel and ZVS Driver) Clinched first prize, second prize bagged to Naman Goyal (project: LDR Based BWS System) from Chandigarh Engineering group of colleges and Manpreet Singh from Lyalpur Khalsa College got third prize (project : Mechatronic Motercycle)

Miscellaneous Category: Engineering : Sidharth Popli from GNE Ludhiana- got first prize (Project: Moderness in material and Methods  ),  second prize has been achieved by Gulshan Kumar From Baba Banda Singh Bhadur College of Engineering Fateghar Shaib (Project : Natural Refrigerator) and –Anil Kumar From Lyl. Khalsa College of Engineering jalandhar  (project: (Abrasive Jet Machine) clinched the third prize.

Miscellaneous Category: Polytechnic: Manik Dhingra  (Project:-Mechanical Spray Pump) from Maher chand Polytechnic Jalandhar   got first prize, Raghav Pahwa also from Mehar  chand Polytechnic Jalandhar  (Project: Previous Concrete  ) stood second and third prize has been achieved by—Mr Vikes from LPU (project: Peanut Piller Machine)  .  

 Auto Mobile (Engineering): Mr. Rishab  (Project: Effi Cycle ) from  CGC Landran got first prize.

Polytechnic Category :   First prize has been  achieved by Tajinder Singh from GND Polytechnic (Smart car), second prize goes to Rahul Goyal (project: Soil Digger) and  Mr. Banidan from LPU stood thir(Project:Automatic Motorized vike stand.  

Software: Engineering Aharsh Saini from CGC (project: Smart and Secure attendance) has clinched first prize and Prince from Indo Global (Project: Securing Infinity ) got Second prize.

Software: Polytechnic : Najot from Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic (project: Online College CRP) stood first and second prize goes to Tushar Garg from Thaper  College(Hangout for Thaparias
