Chandigarh, May 19 – Haryana Government has given additional charge of Chairperson, Haryana Staff Selection Commission, Panchkula to Mrs. Deepti Umashankar, Principal Secretary, Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department, with immediate effect.

 Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway would  be inaugurated soon after completion of the construction work in June 2018.

Chandigarh, May 19 –The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has said that the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway would  be inaugurated soon after completion of the construction work in June 2018.
        Speaking at a programme organised here today, he said the construction work on KMP should have been completed in 2010. The present state government had, soon after coming to power, restarted work on the expressway and now it is nearing completion.

    The state government has carried out construction and repair work on 17,000 km length of roads at the cost of Rs 7,000 crore. A logistic hub is proposed to be set up in Haryana. Apart from different universities, medical colleges are also being established in the state.
        The growth rate of Haryana is higher than the country’s growth rate and the state is logging rapid growth. “We started IT-enabled systems which have resulted in transparency and accountability. This has helped in putting a check on corruption”, Mr Manohar Lal said.

     Today, the present state government has completed three-and-a-half years whereas the Central Government under the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, has completed four years. The BJP Government has changed the systems with technical support, he added.

 Haryana Government has framed and issued guidelines for issuance of sports gradation certificate to ensure that only eligible and bona fide sportspersons get jobs.

Chandigarh, May 19–The Haryana Government has framed and issued guidelines for issuance of sports gradation certificate to ensure that only eligible and bona fide sportspersons get jobs. Sports gradation certificate, to be issued by different officials for different categories of sports, entitles one to government job.

    Any sportsperson playing for Haryana at national level or one who is domicile of Haryana and does not represent the state or UT other than Haryana at national level, would be eligible for sports gradation certificate.

       Stating this here today, an official spokesman said the Director, Sports and District Sports and Youth Affairs Officer (DSYAO) of the district concerned would jointly be the sanctioning authority for all posts under Grade–A, and posts, other than Group A under Grade - B.

Similarly, District Sports and Youth Affairs Officer of the district concerned would be the sanctioning authority for posts, other than Group A and B under Grade – C, and only Group-D post under Grade - D. 
        He said sports gradation certificate signed by a lower official would be invalid. The sportsperson would submit application on the prescribed form (in duplicate). The sanctioning authority would check the originals of all supporting documents and retain one copy with all self-attested supporting documents in his official record.

  The certificate would be numbered serially and entered in a separate register maintained by the DSYAO concerned with running serial numbers.
       
        Only such sports and games as are included in Haryana Sports Policy, as amended from time to time, would be covered. For international, Asian and Commonwealth tournaments, individual or team should be sent or sponsored by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs or Sports Authority of India or National Level Sports Federation affiliated to Indian Olympic Association.
        The tournaments are categorized in decreasing order of level of competitive difficulty. In category 1 come Olympics organised by the International Olympics Committee (IOC) and Paralympics organised by International Paralympics Committee (IPC).

Similarly, category 2 would include 4-year World Championship (restricted to sports disciplines played in Olympics/Paralympics) organised by the international federation of the gane concerned recognized by IOC/IPC. Category 3 would include Asian Games, Para Asian Games and Youth Olympics organised by the Olympic Council of Asia, Asian Paralympic Committee and IOC, respectively.
       Category 4 would include Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Games (Para Athletes) organised by the Commonwealth Games Federation, and Youth Asian Games organised by the Olympic Council of Asia.

   Category 5 would include other world/international championships organised by international federation of the game, recognized by the IOC, Youth Commonwealth Games organised by Commonwealth Games Federation, Deaflympics organised by International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (Only those recognized by IOC), Special Olympics organised by only those which are recognized by IOC, IPC World Cup/Championship (Held annually or biennially) organised by IPC and IBSA World Championship organised by International Blind Sports Federation.
        The spokesman said Category 6 would include World University Games organised by the International University Sports Federation and category number 7 would include Other Asian/Commonwealth Championship organised by Asian Federation of the game, affiliated to the Olympic Council of Asia/International Federation/ Commonwealth Games Federation.

           Similarly, the category number 8 would include SAF Games organised by South Asian Games Federation and Category 9 would include International/Domestic Cricket Test/One Day organised by ICCF/BCCI and Blind Cricket World Cup (held in four years) organised by World Blind Cricket Council.

  Category number 10 would include National Games organised Indian Olympic Association; category number 11 National Championship organised by National Federation Affiliated to IOA/Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs (GOI); Category 12 National School Games/Khelo India/All India Inter University Games/ All India Women Sports/All India Civil Services/All India Police/All India Rural Sports organised School Games Federation of India/AIU/Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs (GOI).

Category 13 would include State Games/State Women Sports/State School/State Rural and Panchayats/ State Inter-University organised by Haryana State Association recognized by the concerned National Federation affiliated to IOA/Department of Sports and Youth Affairs (Haryana).
        The spokesman said sportspersons who have participated in a tournament of Category 2 or above or medal winner in a tournament of Category 7 or above (restricted to Sports discipline played in Olympics/Paralympics) would be eligible for sports gradation of Grade A. Similarly, participation in a tournament of Category 7 or above or medal winner in a tournament of Category 9 or above would be eligible for sports gradation of Grade B.

    Participation in a tournament of Category 9 or above or Medal winner in a tournament of Category 11 or above (restricted to Sports discipline played in Olympics/Paralympics) or medal winner in a tournament of Category 9 or above (other Sports disciplines) would be eligible for sports gradation of Grade C and participation in a tournament of Category 11 or above or medal winner in any listed category would be eligible for sports gradation of Grade D.
        In case of team game, the sportsperson should have been an active player, that is, he should have played in not less than 25 per cent of the games played by the team in the tournament. A player kept as reserve would not be considered as active player in that game. The sportsperson must show proof of having played at least one game (i.e., not kept as reserve) in the tournament. The tournaments unless specifically, indicated connotes senior level tournaments.

          The corresponding junior level tournament would be placed one category lower. A sub-junior tournament is ineligible (except National School Games and Khelo India at Category No. 12).
No appointment would be issued under the ESP quota without the Sports Gradation Certificate of the appropriate Grade issued by the competent authority in the new prescribed format, the spokesman added.

 A team of Crime Branch, Faridabad Police has busted a four-member gang of thieves, which were active in the city and surrounding areas for the last six months.

Chandigarh, May 19  - A team of Crime Branch, Faridabad Police has busted a four-member gang of thieves, which were active in the city and surrounding areas for the last six months.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Police Department said that nine cases of vehicle theft were solved with the arrest of members of the gang, who have stolen one car and eight two-wheelers. The police had also recovered one Ecco car, six motorcycle and two scooty from them.

He said that arrested accused have been identified as Sajid alias Sanjay a resident of Badkhal NIT, Faridabad, Sonu alias Khayali of Ballabhgarh, Lalit of village Fatehpur Billoch, Faridabad and Rahul, a native of Baselwa Colony, Old Faridabad. On getting a tip-off, all four accused have been arrested from different locations.

All four accused were used to steal vehicles to met their drug and other expenses. They have already been jailed many times in several cases. The accused were produced before the court from where they were sent to district jail, Neemka.

The Company has also offered its assistance and technical help to set up a Centre of Excellence on Welding Technology in the University premises.

          The MoU was signed by Dr. Vikram Singh, Dean (Academics Affairs), YMCA University and Mr. Shekhar Gupta, Senior Manager (North), Ador Welding Limited in the presence of Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the University. Dr. M.L. Aggarwal, Chairperson, Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Rashmi Popli, Director, Industry Relations, Dr. Lakhwinder Singh, Training and Placement Officer, Mr. Sanjay Dadral, Senior Manager (Equipments), Ador Welding Limited were also present on this occasion.

          Speaking on this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar said that through this academic tie-up, the students of the University would get an opportunity to learn a variety of skills required for employment in manufacturing, industrial maintenance and construction. Once those welding skills are developed, students will be able to work on the creation of small project using those skills.           Dr. M.L. Aggarwal, who is also professor of Mechanical Engineering, said that Welding processes are commonly used in the manufacturing and construction fields. There are many career opportunities for those with welding skills.
