 CM congratulates PM on successful completion of four years 

Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur today congratulated the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on successful completion of four years tenure. 

He thanked him for his special attachment to the people of Himachal Pradesh and for liberally allocating funds for various projects and sanctioning schemes. He said that due to the support of the Prime Minister, many developmental projects were being implemented in the state with central assistance.

The Chief Minister said that during last four years, the foreign relations of the country improved considerably due to the diplomatic endeavours of Shri Narendra Modi who has made earnest efforts to project a friendly image of India on International platform. These efforts have resulted in earning lot of respect to India as a country among the comity of Nations besides attracting more foreign investment to the country, he added.

He said that there is hardly a section of society which remained untouched during these four years when the Prime Minister with his vision has introduced innovative schemes and programmes including Jandhan Yojna, Make in India, Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, Ujjwala Yojna, Skill India Mission, Digital India and many more. His innovative way of interacting with people through Mann Ki Baat has led to bridging the gap between the government and the governed.

Chief Minister said that Shri Modi was a source of inspiration to every political leader and citizen of the country who spends long hours working in office for the welfare of people. He wished him more successful years ahead in future also.

 Forest, Transport, Youth Services and Sports Minister Shri Govind Thakur took strong exception to the statement of Shri Mukesh Agnihotri giving an impression that economy was in bad shape, people were affected and Shri Narendra Modi was busy in tours abroad.

 He said that this statement shows the frustration of congress party after getting voted out of power and it seems that the party has lost all hopes for future also. He said that before giving such statement, the congress leader should introspect about their own tenures and how UPA government failed on all fronts.

 The Minister said that Modi government during its four year tenure has provided many innovative opportunities to youth and opened 7 IITs, 7 IIMs, 14 IIITs and many new Universities  besides providing training to more than one crore youth under Skill India. Deprived sections have been benefitted with banking facilities through Jan Dhan Yojna besides providing LPG gas connections to 3 crore 80 lakh poor women under Ujjawala Yojna. In addition to this, more than one crore poor families were provided houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, he added.

 Shri Govind Thakur said that our country has emerged as a globally stronger nation under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi who is providing a strong leadership to us and an atmosphere of uncertainty has ended. He said that many big international industrial houses are coming forward to invest in our country and direct foreign investment in the country has increased from 36.5 billion dollars to 60 billion dollars during last four years which has led to more employment generation and economic growth. He said that more than 1 lakh 69 thousand km  rural roads have been constructed during last four years and the construction rate of national highways which was 12 km per day in UPA government has risen to 27 km per day which is more than double.

 He said that every section of the society was feeling safe and secure due to the stable government and effective leadership being provided by Shri Modi and people were also contributing their best with zeal and enthusiasm. During UPA tenure every day a new scam was coming to light whereas now new developmental schemes were coming up, Administration was transparent and effective due to use of latest technology now, he added.  

 Shri Govind Thakur said that Shri Modi toured abroad only for the sake of country and reminded the Congress leaders about them who go abroad to enjoy foreign tours.


 CM launches three ambitious schemes

 'Jan Manch' to be held on first Sunday every month

 33,600 women to be provided gas connections this year

 Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur today launched three ambitious schemes for welfare and development of the State. These schemes are ‘Jan Manch’, for redressal of public grievances in an effective manner, Mukhya Mantri Swavlamban Yojana, aimed at providing assistance to the youth of the State for starting their self employment ventures and Himachal Grihini Suvidha Yojana, for ensuring women empowerment and environment conservation by providing gas cylinder security and gas stoves to the women who were not covered under the Ujjwala Yojana launched by the Government of India.  

 Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that all these schemes launched here today on the occasion of the completion of four years of the Union Government were bound to bring remarkable change in the lives of the people of the State. He said that Union Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has ensured that the Nation gets a special place amongst the comity of nations. He said that the people of the country have given their full support to Shri Modi and BJP National President Shri Amit Shah.  

 Chief Minister said that the ‘Jan Manch’ would go a long way in prompt redressal of public grievances. He said that this programme would not only ensure that the schemes launched for the welfare of the people were completed well in time, but also ensure that the desired results were achieved. He said that ‘Jan Manch’ would be organized Vidhan Sabha  constituency wise and it would be ensured that this was organized in far flung areas of that constituency so that people living in far flung areas get opportunity for redressal of their grievances at their door steps.  He said that the ‘Jan Manch’ would be held on first Sunday of every month.  He said that Ministers and elected Government representatives would ensure their presence in the meetings along with the officers of every department.

 Shri Jai Ram Thakur said that the Mukhya Mantri Swavlamban Yojana would provide self- employment opportunities to the youth of the State. He said that youth between the age group of 18 to 35 years would be provided 25 per cent investment subsidy for purchase of machineries and inputs on loan amount of Rs 40 lakh. He said that for women this subsidy would be 30 per cent.  In addition, 5 per cent interest subsidy would be provided for the period of three years, he added.

 He said that the ‘Himachal Grihini Suvidha Yojana’ was aimed at empowerment of women and environment conservation. He said that women would be provided gas connections and it would ensure gas connections to all the households which have not been covered under the Ujjawala Scheme. He said that a package of Rs 3500 would be provided under this scheme which would include gas cylinder and gas stove. He said that with this, Himachal Pradesh would become first State of the country with every household with smoke-free kitchen.    

 He said that effective publicity should be done regarding these schemes for ensuring that maximum people could be benefitted under these schemes

 Chief Minister interacted through video conference with the people of different parts of the State regarding redressal of their grievances. He also launched the Guideline booklet on ‘Jan Manch’ scheme on the occasion. He also released the guideline booklet on Mukhya Mantri Swavlamban Yojana.  He also provided documents of gas connections to the beneficiaries  under  Himachal Grihini Suvidha Yojana on the occasion.

 Former Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal said that the present State Government was not only fulfilling its promises, but also going a step ahead by launching  several ambitious schemes for the welfare of the people of the State. He also appreciated the endeavours of the State Government for initiating 30 new schemes for the people of the State.

 Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Shri Kishan Kapoor said that the Himachal Grihini Suvidha Yojana was an innovative scheme for ensuring women empowerment and environment conservation in the State. He said that 33,600 women would be provided gas connections during the current financial year.  He said that the department has launched an App for benefit of the consumers in the State.


Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Shri Virender Kanwar welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He said that Union Government led by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was committed for welfare of every section of the society and during the last four years has initiated several innovative schemes for welfare of every section of the society and development of every region of the country.


Industries Minister Shri Bikram Singh Thakur congratulated the Chief Minister for launching three schemes for the welfare of the people of the State. He said that, in a small period of five months, the State Government has taken some historic decisions. He said that Mukhya Mantri Swavlamban Yojana was the biggest Government funded scheme of the Industries department for providing self employment opportunities to the youth of the State.


State BJP President Shri Satpal Singh Satti congratulated the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for completing four years in office. He said that the State Government has done a commendable job by launching three major schemes on this day for the benefit of the people of the State. He said that the five month tenure of the present State Government has ensured that poor and downtrodden get maximum benefit of the schemes initiated by the State Government.


Secretary Rural Development Dr R.N.Batta detailed salient features and benefits of the Jan Manch Programme. He said that launch of this scheme was in accordance with the budget announcement made by the Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur. He said that Swachhata Abhiyan would be launched during the organization of the Jan Manch Programme.  The State Government has decided that the pending complaints would be redressed within ten days, he added.


Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Shri Madan Chauhan detailed various highlights and objectives of the Himachal Grihini Suvidha Yojana. He said that the scheme aims at empowerment of women and environment conservation. He said that this scheme would ensure gas connections to every household of the State.  


Director Industries Shri Rajesh Sharma detailed about various salient features of the Mukhya Mantri Swavlamban Yojana. He said that the youth would be provided incentives for starting their self employment ventures.


Urban Development Minister Smt. Sarveen Chaudhary, Agriculture Minister Dr Ram Lal Markanda, Health Minister Shri Vipin Singh Parmar, Forest and Transport Minister Shri Govind Thakur, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr Rajiv Saizal, MPs Shri Virender Kashyap, Shri Ram Swaroop Sharma and Shri Anurag Thakur,  MLAs, Chief Secretary Shri Vineet Chawdhry Additional Chief Secretaries Dr Shrikant Baldi, Smt. CM interacts with children in Youth Parliament

India is the largest democratic country of the world and it provides an opportunity to every citizen to some fundamentals rights to progress in their lives. This was stated by the Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur while having an interaction with the students on the occasion of Shimla Youth Parliament organized by the students of St. Edwards School here today. 

While appreciating the efforts of the students, Chief Minister said that the beauty of democracy was that every citizen can express his views freely and fearlessly. He said that the Youth Parliament organized by the students of St Edwards School, Shimla would certainly help the students to hone their debating skills. He said the event would also facilitate the students to understand the Indian democracy as they were the leaders of tomorrow.

Students Piyush Vyas conducted the proceedings of House as Speaker and Akul acted as Deputy Speaker. Gur Sahib and Arhant also debated on the occasion.

Students of St. Edward's, Loretto Convent Tarahall, St Thomas, Jesus and Marry, Shimla Public School and Government School Lalpani participated in the Youth Parliament.

 People advised  not to panic about Nipah Virus


Apart from outbreak of Nipah Virus in two districts of Kerela State no information regarding its spread has been reported from any other part of the State as well as the country, stated Additional Chief Secretary, Health B.K. Agarwal in a meeting held here today.


Officers of Health, Animal husbandry, Forest & Horticulture department were present in the meeting, chaired by Shri Agarwal. He said that only fruit bats (flying fox) have been found carrying this virus. These types of bats are found in the coastal regions of the county. Therefore there is no possibility of Nipah Virus in the bats found in Himachal Pradesh.


He said that the bats reported to have died in the state were not due to the virus as these species do not die by Nipah Virus.


Shri Agarwal said that few days back samples from dead bats in Sirmaur were collected and sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune for testing and all the samples were reported negative for Nipah Virus.


Additional Chief Secretary has advised people not to panic about the Nipah Virus. He said that all the medical colleges of the State were prepared to deal with the situation, if occurs.
