CHANDIGARH 15.06.18-: National Cadet Corps (NCC) Group Commander Chandigarh Group, Brigadier  R S Thakur  inspected No. 1 Chandigarh Air Sqn NCC at Sector 31 here on Friday. He was briefed by Commanding Officer Wing Commander M R Pandeya about activities being conducted by the Air Squadron.

          He was introduced to Wing Commander H S Pannu (Flying Pilot), Staff and also to NCC cadets who are under training for forthcoming events in the Unit. Brigadier R S Thakur visited the Aeromodeling Section of the unit.  Aeromodeling Instructor Mr Daman explained about the types of aero modeling training being conducted in the unit.  It is pertinent to mention that the cadets of the Chandigarh Airwing NCC have excelled at national and international events including 05 Cadets who have joined as officer in the Armed Forces during training year 2017-18. To add, in this year also, 02 Cadets have already cleared the SSB interview for selection as Officer in the Indian Army. DrRakesh Thakur, Caretaker Airwing NCC PGGC-11 and ShriRajinder Prasad of 1 Chandigarh Air NCC were awarded appreciation certificates by the Group Commander. Brigadier R S Thakur congratulated the unit for excellent achievements in training year 2017-18 and emphasized the role of NCC in personality building of youth and motivating them to join armed forces and become disciplined citizens of the country.
