Governor and CM felicitate people on Independence Day

Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur have felicitated the people of the State on the Independence Day.

In their felicitation messages, the Governor and Chief Minister said that the State had made unprecedented progress in all spheres and the credit for this goes to the hard working and honest people of the State. They said that it was a matter of pride for every Himachali that the State was emerging as a role model for rest of the country in almost all major sectors.

They expressed hope that State would scale new heights of progress and development in coming years with the consistent endeavours of the state government and active cooperation of the people.


Centre approves agro processing cluster in Kangra district

The Inter Ministerial Approval Committee (IMAC) of Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries has granted approval for setting up of an agro processing cluster named and styled as M/S Great Himalayan Farm Fresh at village Salo near (Lunz) in district Kangra.

A Spokesperson of the Industries department revealed here today that this cluster would be spread over 10 acres of land involving investment of Rs. 24.49 crores.

He said the facilities at the cluster would include multi commodity cold storage, ware house, milk chilling and pasteurizations, sorting, grading and packaging having total employment potential of 400 persons. This cluster will prove to be a milestone in harnessing the unmarketable surplus of local horticulture produce such as Kinno, Litchi, Mangoes, vegetable, peas, potatoes etc. and would also generate lots of employment opportunities in the State.


CM meets various personalities under Sampark Se Samarthan programme

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur met various personalities under 'Sampark Se Samarthan' programme in Shimla today.

He met retired Principal of IGMC Shimla Dr. DJ Dass Gupta, retired Justice R.K Mahajan and retired DGP TR Mahajan at their residences.

The Chief Minster also presented a booklet on four years achievements of Union Government to them.


Governor mourns death of Balram Das Tandon

Governor Acharya Devvrat has expressed grief over the sudden demise of Chhattisgarh Governor Balram Das Tandon who passed away on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack in Raipur. He was 90.

The Governor while expressing his condolence said that Shri Tandon made a great contribution in upholding democratic traditions and values. He always worked for the uplift of downtrodden in the society. His death was a great loss to the nation.

Acharya Devvrat prayed to the Almighty to give peace to the departed soul and strength to bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.


CM expresses grief over demise of Chhattisgarh Governor

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has conveyed his condolences on sudden demise of Balram Das Tandon, Governor of Chhattisgarh, who passed away on Tuesday in Raipur at the age of 90.

He said that the contributions of Shri Tandon for the development of Chhattisgarh state would always be remembered. He was a very senior leader and always upheld the democratic traditions.

The Chief Minister has prayed for the peace of the departed soul and expressed his deep sympathies with the bereaved family members.
