Two arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Rohit Kumar R/o Plot No. 2, Shivjot Enclave, Kharar (PB) near Dividing Road, Sector 14/15, Chandigarh and recovered 30 injections of drugs from his possession. A case FIR No. 270, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Dinesh Kumar R/o # 177, Khudda-Ali-Sher, Chandigarh nearUppal Marble Flats, Mani Majra, Chandigarh and recovered 240 GM Charas from his possession on 18.09.2018. A case FIR No. 399, U/S 20 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested 1) Rajinder Singh R/o # 167/2, Ph-2, BDC, Sec-26, Chandigarh, 2) Naresh Pal R/o # 167/2, Ph-2, BDC, Sec-26, Chandigarh and 3) Jagdish Kumar R/o # 166, PH-2, BDC, Sec-26, Chandigarh while they were gambling near Samadhi Yog Mandir, BDC, Sector 26, Chandigarh on 18.09.2018. Total cash Rs. 5110/- was recovered from their possession. A case FIR No. 301, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later all were bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

A case FIR No. 376 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh against Ravi Kumar R/o # 3259, Sector-38, Chandigarh who were arrested at backside SCO No. 304, Sector 38D, Chandigarh and recovered 4 boxes of country liquor from his possession. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Rajesh R/o # 239/2, Village-Sarangpur, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Pulsar M/Cycle No CH-01AS-2610 while parked near his house on 11-09-2018. A case FIR No. 247, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Criminal Breach of Trust

A case FIR No. 290, U/S 406 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Satinder Singh, Jr. Asstt. who stated that payment amounting to Rs 14 Lakhs was to be made in the name of other officials but unfortunately Rs. 9 Lacs from the same was credited in the account of Sh. Amar Singh, Ex. Jr. Asstt of the CTU, Chandigarh instead of Sh. Amar Singh, Inspector, CTU. Sh. Amar Singh, Ex. Jr. Asstt used the 6 lakh from the same amount and not returning it. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Missing/Abducted

Sh. Partap Singh R/o # 210, Gali No. 9, Shanti Nagar, Mani Majra, Chandigarh reported that his son age about 17 Years has been missing from his residence since night intervening 16/17-09-2018. A case FIR No. 398, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh reported that her son age about 14 Years has been missing from residence since 15-09-2018. A case FIR No. 283, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Kidnapping

Sh. Sunil Kumar R/o # 2022, Sector-24/C, Chandigarh reported that his brother age about Kamaljit Singh R/o 360A, Darpan Colony, Morinda (PB) 32 Years came to Daddumajra, Chandigarh from Morinda (PB) on 15.09.2018. But he did not return his home and complainant suspected that unknown person kidnapped his brother. A case FIR No. 194, U/S 365 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Rioting

A case FIR No. 284, U/S 147, 148, 149, 323, 427, 452 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on the complaint of Mohit R/o # 95/C Village-Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh who alleged that David, Bablu, Bittu, Badal and 2 other persons attacked on him and also on complainant’s father and mother at his shop and also damaged his shop articles on 18-09-2018. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 338, U/S 420 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Harish Kumar Pahwa, SCO No. 2438, Sec 22, Chandigarh who alleged that R.S. Katoch R/o H.No. 6154, Sector-8, Vasant Kunj, Delhi entered into an agreement to sell the share of House Property No 88, Setor-2, Chandigarh and represented that he (R. S. Katoch) is one of the legal heir and is the undisputed owner of 1/7th share of said house property. On the pretext of the said sale, alleged received an amount of Rs. 11,10,000/- from complainant and agreed to execute and register the sale deed on or before 05.11.2016. After receipt of the said amount alleged did not executed and register the sale deed. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 194, U/S 420 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Ramesh Kumar Thareja R/o Flat No. 3277, Swati Society, Sector-49/D, Chandigarh alleged that Suraj Mohan Sharma R/o # 228, Sector-32/A, Chandigarh approached complaint to sale of his 30% share in H.No. 228, Sector 32A, Chandigarh. Alleged person taken Rs. 15,00,000/- as token money and entered into an agreement with complainant. But complainant later came to know that alleged person dishonestly and fraudulently concealed the fact that he has already executed another agreement to sell the same property to Mr. Sandeep Arora. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 377, U/S 420, 467, 471, 473, 474 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Mr. Gurjot Singh Sawhney c/o Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 40-Chandigarh who alleged that a lady contractual employee submitted forged graduation certificate for regularization of service at Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 40, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Eve-teasing/Outrage modesty of Women

A case FIR No. 339, U/S 354 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady who alleged that Jugraj Singh Gurudwara Bagh Sahida, Sector-44, Chandigarh outrage modesty of complainant.Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 378, U/S 354, 354A IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady who alleged that Dr. Paramjeet Singh, Inderjit Singh and a lady sexually and emotionally harassing complainant.Investigation of the case is in progress.

The Administrator, Union Territory of Chandigarh is pleased to armed the notification already issued with regard to the constitution of Police Complaints Authority for Union Territory of Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 19th September 2018: The Administrator, Union Territory of Chandigarh is pleased to armed the notification already issued with regard to the constitution of Police Complaints Authority for Union Territory of Chandigarh, with immediate effect as under:-

For clause 3(a) (i) of the notification dated 14.02.2017, for the words “The authority shall inquire into allegations of ‘serious misconduct’ against police personnel”, the following shall be substituted and may be read as:-

“The Police Complaints Authority shall take cognizance of only allegations of serious misconduct by the personnel, which would include incidents”.

For clause 3(b) (iv) of the notification dated 14.02.2017, for the words “ The recommendation of the Police Complaints Authority shall ordinarily be binding, unless for the reason to be recorded in writing, the Administration decides to disagree with the findings of the Authority”, the following shall be substituted and may be read as:-

“The recommendations of the Police Complaints Authority, for any action, departmental or criminal, against delinquent police officer/police personnel shall be binding on the concerned authority”.

The other clauses and contents of the Notification dated 14.02.2017 shall remain unchanged.
