Chandigarh,22.10.18-In keeping with the spirit of Golden Jubilee year celebration, MCM DAV College for Women organised Swarnim Abhinandan- an event to celebrate the glorious milestones in Golden Jubilee year, to express gratitude to worthy patrons and to acknowledge the contribution of all concerned in making Golden Jubilee a memorable one. Prof.Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University graced the function with his presence as the Chief Guest. Prof Shankarji Jha, Dean University Instructions, Panjab University, Dr .Parwinder Singh, Dean, College Development Council and Controller of Examination, Panjab University, Sh. H.R. Gandhar, Senior Governing Body Member, DAV College Managing Committee (DAV CMC), Dr. Satish Sharma, Director (Colleges), DAV CMC, New Delhi, Panjab University Senators and Syndics, and Principals of different colleges partook in the event as Special Guests.

Lamp lighting lent an auspicious beginning to the event. College Principal Dr.Nisha Bhargava presented a report highlighting the laudable achievements of the college during the Golden Jubilee year that included 1st Rank in Swacch Campus Ranking 2018, and 155 top ten University positions in PU Examination 2017-18. Congratulating the college for being a prestigious seat of learning with remarkable accomplishments, Prof. Raj Kumar advocated continuous research and innovation for accelerating the evolving of the education system into one that promotes progress of the society and upliftment of the weaker sections. The State awardees for Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2018 and college sportspersons with international and national achievements were also honoured during the event.

Principal Dr.Nisha Bhargava thanked DAV CMC for their guidance and support, and the staff of MCM for their efforts in making Golden Jubilee year a historical one that witnessed spectacular events including 51 Kundiya Havan, inauguration of Golden Jubilee Block by Hon'ble President of India Sh.Ram Nath Kovind wherein Chandigarh MP Kirron Kher, Governors of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttrakhand and Puducherry also graced the portals of MCM.
