Chandigarh, Jan 18 : A State level seminar will be organized by Haryana Horticulture Department on January 23, 2019 in Tokas village of Hisar for the awareness of the farmers about the adverse effects of pesticides and safety measures.

While giving details, an official spokesman said that the increasing use of pesticides in agriculture and horticulture is proving to be dangerous for everyone. Use of pesticides is the cause of many types of diseases in the human beings. Thus for the awareness of the famers about adverse effects of pesticides, a State level seminar would be organised near Arya Nagar Bypass in Tokas village on January 23 at 11 am. The farmers would be provided detailed information on the alternatives for pesticides including its safety measures.

He said that Dr. Arjun Saini, Director General Horticulture Department would be the Chief Guest. Besides this, experts from different departments would also be present in the seminar to provide information about various schemes for the benefit of the farmers. The farmers are urged to reach the seminar so as to avail the maximum benefit from the knowledge, he added.

Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Haryana Police has seized 7.320 kg of doda post from a person riding on a scooty from Auto Market area in district Sirsa.

Chandigarh, Jan 18 – Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Haryana Police has seized 7.320 kg of doda post from a person riding on a scooty from Auto Market area in district Sirsa.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested accused has been identified as Tajinder Singh, a resident of Hari Vishnu Colony, Kirtinagar, Sirsa.

Divulging the details about seizure, he said a CIA team was present in auto market, kanganpur road area during patrolling. As soon as the accused saw the police, he tried to run away but police caught him. When searched 7.320 kg doda post was recovered from his possession. A case under NDPS Act was registered against the accused at City Police Station, Sirsa. He will be taken on remand by producing in the Court.

The Deputy Commissioner, Jind and District Election Officer, Mr Amit Khatri said that this time, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines would be used in the bye-elections to Jind assembly

Chandigarh, Jan 18 – The Deputy Commissioner, Jind and District Election Officer, Mr Amit Khatri said that this time, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines would be used in the bye-elections to Jind assembly constituency on January 28, 2019. For this, senior officers would be trained to make use of the machines. This training would be being from 9 am on January 21.

Mr Khatri said that it is important to get this training as this time VVPAT machines would be used in this Bye-election. He said that in order to conduct the election procedure in a fair and transparent manner, eight Sector Magistrates have been deputed. After allotting them areas, they would do all kinds of activities related to elections.

The eight Sector Magistrates who have been posted included Executive Engineer, Public Health and Engineering Department, Mr Sanjay Sharma, DMEO, Marketing Board, Mr Hawa Singh Khobra, Executive Engineer, Public Health and Engineering Department, Mr Harbhajan Singh, ME, Municipal Council, Mr Satish Garg, Food and Supply Officer, Mr Rajesh Kumar, District Horticulture Officer, Mr Virender Hooda, Deputy Director, Agriculture, Mr Surender Singh, and Programme Officer of Women and Child Development Department, Ms Usha Muwal.

The four Flying Squads formed included Executive Engineer, Public Health and Engineering Department, Mr Satish Kumar, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Mr Navneet, Executive Engineer, Water Resources department, Mr Dharamvir Singh and Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry, Mr Ravinder Hooda.

He said that 13 officers have been allotted the duty of Supervisor, which included Principal, Government Senior Secondary School Nagura, Mr Hoshiar Singh, Satyender Singh of Alewa, Rajender Singh of Raichandwala, Mr Pradeep Kumar of Shamdon, Mr Ghasi Ram of Pegon School, Mr Krishan Kumar of Nagura, Mr Naveen Nara of DIET IKKAS, Mr Kalyan Singh Chahal of Intel Kalan School, Mr Rajpal Deshwal of Ahirka, Mr Krishan Singh of Ghimana, Mr Jairam of Jajawan, Mr Sushil Kumar Jain of Manoharpur and Principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Bibipur, Mr Surender Kumar.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all these officers to get training of EVM and VVPAT machine on January 21.

Chandigarh, Jan 18: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal will lay the foundation stone of Haryana Bhawan in Narmada (Gujarat) on January 19 and would take part in Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar on January 20, during his visit to the states of Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh from January 19 to January 22, 2019.

While giving details, an official spokesman said that after laying the foundation stone of Haryana Bhawan on January 19, the Chief Minister would also visit the world’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Statue of Unity and Museum. After this, he would attend the programme at Sabarmati Riverfront to be hosted by Director, INDEXB. On the same day, a dinner would be hosted by the Chief Minister for industrialists of Haryana origin in Gujarat.

He said that on January 20, the Chief Minister would take part in Haryana State Seminar during Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar and thereafter, would visit the Haryana State Pavilion Exhibition there. He would have one-to-one meetings with industrialists and would visit Dandi Kutir – the Gandhi Museum in Gandhinagar.

In the evening, the Chief Minister would have meeting with Union External Affairs Minister, Mrs Sushma Swaraj at Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh). He would also have one-to-one meeting with High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs) at the hotel.

He said that on January 21, the Chief Minister would take part in the inauguration of Youth Pravasi Bhartiya Divas at Deendayal Hastkala Sankul at Lalpur in Varanasi. Thereafter, he would visit the Haryana State Pavilion. The Chief Minister would also have round table meeting with Francophone (GOPIO) delegation. On the same day, he would also have an interactive session with non-Haryanvi residents and one-to-one meetings with prominent personalities of industrial sector. The Chief Minister would also visit Maha Kumbh on January 21 and 22 at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, he added.
